Pegasus Shower Faucet Replacement?
Comments (2)Some plumbing has interference (pipe, tapered) threads, some has machine screw (i.e., like a normal screw) threads. A tapered pipe thread needs pipe dope or tape to allow a seal. A machine screw thread relies on a washer being pressed between two sealing surfaces (like on your garden hose to the hose bib). Sounds like you have a machine screw thread on that faucet which would rely on a gasket/washer to make the seal - in other words, it is not a pipe thread at all. As you've discovered, it won't work. Often people will use one of those flexible, metal reinforced hoses from the shutoff to the faucet. Those have the right gaskets and nuts on them to fit properly and make a good seal....See MoreShower Faucet Replacement?

Comments (3)Um....knowing what kind of shower valve it is would be helpful. You haven't given much to go on. Regardless, even from this description I suspect the best course may be to replace the valve en-toto. Super-glue is utterly ineligible for any such purpose and replacing parts is always a PITA even if you have identified them correctly and can find them. New valves aren't that expensive anyway. Unless you have localized shut-off available, you will have to shut off the main....See MorePegasus 9000 Bridge Style Faucet
Comments (6)At HD Canada they generally only sell the models manufactured in Italy by Paini Spa Rubinetterie (HD Canada often includes the Country of Origin on its' spec list) and this model isn't sold here which suggests it is made in China. Nothing necessarily wrong with this but some of these house brands have no real manufacturing facilities and just farm out producion to the lowest bidder which deeply compromises quality control. Reviews would make it a no for me as even a couple of the positive reviews were by people who had problems but were able to contact someone and get replacement parts (Master Plumber who I had check out the Pegasus faucet my Mom put in her kitchen said his biggest reservation about the product was parts replacement - he works at HD and said they are generally available but not in stock). Redroze put in the Danze Bridge faucet which is also quite reasonable (and made in China) and she hasn't had any problems. Canadian Tire sells them here and the reviews are generally positive....See Morerobynpa
