Kraftmaid vs Omega dynasty
Comments (32)I recently (summer 2013) ordered and received Dynasty cabinets, and was terribly disappointed in the quality of construction. While the doors look very nice, the cabinets themselves were very poor quality- the frames on multiple cabinets were so out of square they could not be installed properly, we had two different highly experienced installers on site, neither could believe the sloppy workmanship and shoddy construction, and did not feel the cabinets were worth the money paid. The sides and bottoms do not fit well, gaps are visible throughout, and flimsy 3/8 plywood was used, even on the back which supports the weight of the cabinet. The corner blocking was falling out of several units, and misaligned in others. We received 3 replacements for one cabinet, which in the end was still damaged but we decided to just live with it due to the extensive delays. And we now just discovered one of the face frames is split where the screw fastens the corner(we had thought it was a scratch, and were planning on living with it rather than experience more delays). There is very little holding these cabinet frames together, I do not expect them to last. They are definitely overpriced and not worth the $22,000 paid. Do not be misled by the company website claim of master craftsmanship- perhaps in earlier times the craftsmanship was there, but it is clearly not present now....See Morecabico vs. omega dynasty
Comments (1)We looked at both companies but did not go with Omega simply because they did not offer frameless. The Cabico cabinets are sitting in my house right now but most of them are still boxed up. I have unpacked a few of them because I was dying to see them!! The ones I have looked at are beautiful and I am very happy with the finish. They are being installed this week so I can add more then, but as it stands I am pleased with the quality....See MoreMerillat vs. Dynasty cabinets
Comments (5)we almost went with Merrilat but decided on Ultra Craft, a semi-custom line. Merrilat is a stock cabinet, so it isn't as if yours have to be 'made' ...chances are the order is easier to 'fill'. We ended up with the semi custom line which allowed us to have the design we really wanted. The specials being offered by Ultra Craft at the time made the price difference about 2 grand. I have to say, though, the kitchen designer had NO HESITATION in backing Merrilat 110%. She said we it is a solid company, and offers a good product. If you can get what you want with it, and the savings will help, you can feel confident going with Merrilat. We too were going to do the plywood and dovetail drawers. GOOD LUCK with the DECISION!...See MoreKemper vs. Dynasty (made by Omega) painted white cabinets
Comments (5)We have Dynasty cabinets by Omega, painted white (oyster, with a caramel glaze, very subtle). They are not shaker style, but they are very well made, and we are extremely happy with them. Also, all dealings with the company (through our KD) were smooth and fast, and all of the cabinets were delivered on time and in excellent condition (no returns). They were packed well, and all finishes were perfect. We did add a few trim pieces, in addition to adding a banquette, and all pieces, although ordered later, arrived pretty quickly, and the finishes were consistent with the main cabinet order. We also have an alder island from Dynasty, and it is beautiful. From our experience this past summer, I would recommend Dynasty. I have no experience with Kemper. Good luck to you!...See Morelinley1
