Kitchen window sill not flat

I posted a general question in the remodeling forum, but I'm most concerned about my kitchen window. We have Marvin Integrity windows in our new remodel and the wood around the inside of the windows all has a rounded edge. So, when the carpenter adds the sill and trim, he allows for a slight reveal, otherwise we'd end up with a little crevice between the window and the sill/trim. I've always had flat window sills (the rest of the house has marble sills which go all the way back to the window), and am not sure how I'll like this type. I guess it will prevent me from putting junk in the windows (like potted plants), but still seems odd that I haven't heard anyone else mention this. Here's a picture of the powder room window with sill added but the bottom trim isn't there yet.

Did/does anyone else have this issue? Thanks.
