How do you think this backsplash would work with my kitchen

I am having Giallo Ornamental installed next week. What do you think of this tumbled marble with it in my kitchen? Not necessarily this whole design, but the color of the 4x4 tiles? I'm trying to avoid busy because of the glass block windows and want the granite and cabinets to be the focal point.

Also, what should I put above that center window over the cooktop?

Is there a third window to balance the one off to the right?

I think the color of the tumbled marble will be fine. Somehow the windows should be integrated into the overall design with the tile.

Yes, there is a 3rd window.

So, how would I integrate the windows? Maybe have the tiles diamond and have subway shape around the windows?

Please help! I have to have this decided in the next day or so!

Thanks for the clarification, Steff. I agree the green granite goes better with the autumn colors above. I think I just wanted to make the green granite go with it, because I like it, and because it took several beatings pretty well. But, I like the most recent backsplash better that the green granite, so I just have to find a more suitable counter. Regarding the honed absolute, it seems many others on this website say the same thing. Wonder about any other honed granites that might go well with the backsplash and not have such maintanence issues. Before I settle on the caesarstone, I do want to explore (exhaust?) the options. I saw today (here I go again), in a high end house basement laundry room, a gray concrete counter and sink that I believe would go well. However, I've read about cracking and scratching. Almost done with this particular decision... Thanks everybody.

The red diamonds in my backsplash are glass and I really like the effect. The other tiles are a bit off-white, and I think they match the cabs, I've never noticed. lol I have orb for some of the hardwared, and ruby colored pulls and knobs on the hutch which is in the kitchen. I also have an orb faucet whith white sink. White appliances. The appliances are whiter than the cabs, but its not noticeable. As far as the granite. That's a hard one to answer. Take every single thing off the countertop and I love my granite. But that color of granite is so hard to accesorize with it's driving me crazy! However, I recently discovered pale yellow, white, and light vintage green looks wonderful on the granite. My walls are a very pale yellow. Black accessories are good too, but I want more pastels in my kitchen. It only took me three years to figure out that pastels really look best with the granite and white cabs!

I told my husband that my friends on my forum are recommending a floor that is not so blue/gray as this, and he was surprised because it seemed more warm than gray to him. (Although I should say that he is leaving all the choices to me.) So, instead of depending on my poor photography skills, I'm posting internet images of it that are better renditions. And this is the door, although this looks pinker and less golden than the samples I've seen (including the sample I artificially aged in the sun for weeks!) And the Corian glacier white counter: Cpartist asks: What are the colors in the rest of your house? I am redoing everything and have not chosen a paint color or furniture. The owner of the flooring shop suggested a mustard yellow with this floor, which thought would look awesome with the white and blue backsplash I posted. I was envisioning something like wall color in the picture showcasing the corian counter top but a bit lighter. Cpartist also says: Also there is a tile similar to your last one that also picks up touches of the Browns from the cabinets. Can't think of its name right now If you think of it, please let me know, since this was the first backsplash that I really felt right about. Thank you!!!

I’d get a large area rug / table chairs and bar stools to be sure I’d have comfort in using space. Kitchen is all set up but there may be a function improvement like hood installation to plan and do properly. maybe Island seating reconfiguration involving those cubby hole sections Which gets into taking it apart and so on . is island and seating important to you?

The light marble works in the other kitchen because the counters and floor are darker. It would wash your kitchen out. You need a backsplash that has some of the counter and cabinet colors in it to bring it all together. Also something with a little pattern as your counters and floor are more solid.

Try a travertine mosaic tile with same warm brown and ivory tones in it. A mini brick or square would work well as you have that small area above the counters and a larger tile would be too big there.

Why do you have to have the backsplash decided so soon?? Some take forever to find the "perfect" backsplash. Wouldn't it be easier to pick once the granite is installed??

If not, then there were several in your stone mosaics link that I liked-boading creme, cabos tumbled, elfes noce were just a few that caught my eye.

Hopefully some others will chime in with some direction for you. Good luck!!

You must have read my mind. I'm going to wait until the granite is in next week and then start looking. I think it will be much easier to bring the samples home and look at them with the granite already installed.

I second that you wait until the granite is in. You get a much better overall picture - of the whole kitchen. Much easier to make a decision
