My3Dogs, that is a awesome site. I was thinking about tackling another blucky trash can that has been lurking around. There is so much inspiration there(for lots of different projects too)!

Natal, I think it was a shredder bottom whose top succumb to death by junk mail.

IÂm happy to share the process. It would be terrible for some one else to have to work through the same mistakes I made.

First, sand very carefully. Think about a solid scratching. If the tiniest area remains unscratched, paint wonÂt stick. DonÂt use a rough paper because the scratches become raised and will have to be sanded back down. Go round and round. Back and forth motions seem to raise the plastic into burrs.

Next, I used nail polish remover on a cloth to remove every trace of the elbow grease.

I screwed up several times before I discovered Kilz brand oil-based primer in a spray can. Before that, the paint would flake or scratch off, and was honestly useless. Kilz and let cure. Sand down any plastic burrs that resulted from the prepping. Kilz primer again and let cure again. Forget about it a couple days during each curing.

After that, it was good ole Krylon. It stuck and hardened great to the Kilz primer, and the primer bonded well with the plastic. I feel confident using it as a trash can.

The color stripes were done with regular blue painterÂs tape. Peel off the tape BEFORE the paint dries. (I had to learn that one the hard way too! LOL) Learning to spray the inside was a bit of a learning curve, but I really love how the glossy olive turned out.

It really wasn't difficult once I figured out what product could make the paint stick. I just followed the natural lines of the can when taping and it just came out that way. Actually, it saved me from the compulsion to do stripes. That would have had me pulling out my hair. :O)

AJsMama- The pendant came from Fire Mountain. I looked, but can't seem to find the same one on their site. Warning, it is an addictive site if you like to make things. It came in a package of two, surely not more than a couple of dollars. Prices there are great.
