bryan, that looks good and allows me to not buy Reese's peanut butter chips, so thank you. I use the recipe that has been on the back of the marshmallow creme jar. Unfortunately, it changed a few years ago and I still like the old one. Fortunately, I still have the old one, LOL, and can make a zillion different flavors. It's very similar to the Mamie Eisenhower Fudge that Grainlady uses. Like Deanna, I make a double batch and use my half sheet pans. FANTASY FUDGE 3 cups sugar 3/4 cup real butter 2/3 cup evaporated milk 12 oz. Chocolate chips 7 oz. Jar marshmallow cream 1 cup chopped nuts-optional 1 tsp vanilla Bring sugar, butter and milk to a rolling boil for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. (I test it at this point to make sure it has reached soft ball stage, sometimes it takes longer, especially if I make a double batch). Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients until chips are melted and fudge is smooth. Pour into a greased 9x13 pan, let cool to room temperature and cut into slices. VARIATIONS: Peanut butter fudge: Sub peanut butter chips for chocolate and omit nuts Cookies and Cream: Sub white chips and stir in 1 cup crushed Oreos instead of nuts Creamsicle Fudge: Sub white chips for chocolate, omit nuts, pour half of the fudge into pan. Stir 2 tsp orange extract, 4 drops yellow food coloring and 3 drops red food coloring into remaining fudge, pour orange fudge over plain fudge and marble in with knife. Candy Cane fudge: Sub white chips, omit nuts and stir in 1/2 cup crushed candy canes, sprinkle top with more crushed candies. Maple Walnut fudge: Use white chips, add 2 tsp of maple flavoring and 2 cups chopped walnuts Annie

Latkes for my Jewish side. I just can't justify the mess and time more than once a year. BF is a cheesecake junkie but he only gets to justify his addiction at holiday times. Eggnog too, but we do the soy kind and rather like it. Regular eggnog was always too rich and cloying for my taste anyway. Before I became lactose sensitive I thinned it with 2% milk. And ditto the chocolate covered cherries! Wish BF would get me some for Valentine's day! As it is I have to snag them when I visit friends' houses at the holidays. Mom always insisted on fudge and stollen, but she is diabetic now and can't do fudge. I always found fudge to be too rich for my taste, but I'm trying to start a tradition of making my own stollen. Don't know if I will be able to do it this year as I have been sick with the flu. If it were up to me I would make those great rolled cookies with the set of Christmas cookie cutters I inherited from my Grandmother, and I would have a lot of fun frosting and decorating them. Probably not going to happen this year, I'm sick with flu and too busy. I'm posting a photo of some I made two years ago with my best friends at our cookie decorating party. My best friend died suddenly ten months later. She was alive and vibrant one day and gone the next, from a massive brain hemmorage. I miss her tons still. Glad we always enjoyed our times together when we had them!

Jim, we have a candy store downtown right next to the drawbridge. They make wonderful old-fashioned fudge with cocoa. It's a bit grainy, firm, with or without walnuts, & it's not just the tourists that line up. This time of year you can get caught up on all the town news standing in line. Fudge is one of those things that, to me, is best purchased from a good candy maker. There's something nostaligic about carrying that little box home tied with a ribbon. We always buy little mini-boxes with 2 pieces per box & one box per person snuggled into the branches of our Christmas tree. Tradition. Christmas is the only time of year we eat fudge & just those 2 pieces. /tricia

Funny how different things appeal to some and not others. My first thought when looking at the DR, is I hate the coral ceiling. It just made the room feel closed in. Ditto in the Bedroom - too dark of a color. Maybe if they had done 50% of the wall color, but to me it just looks like they were lazy and didn't want to trim out the ceiling. I'm not a huge bright white ceiling person, but a creamy white would have been perfect. Also not loving the kitchen color. That wall color does nothing to highlight the lovely cabinets. I love the exterior of the house. I think they did a great job architecturally with capturing the old farmhouse style with the window sizing and trim and porch. I think the inside should have been done more in keeping with the style of the house - not necessarily country, but less contemporary. I was expecting a beautiful quaint home, but instead saw a sparse contemporary bright colored house. I actually thought the LR was one of the prettiest rooms - maybe I'd have done a slightly different shade of blue, but overall it was very nice. That picture over the fireplace being the first thing you see when coming in was just wrong - again too contemporary for that house. OK, I'm done venting.
