Recipes using Apple Cinnamon Jelly?

We have a jar of Apple Cinnamon Jelly in the pantry and I'm looking for recipes that use it (not recipes to make it). The only one that comes to mind is pouring it over cream cheese and serving it with cinnamon-sugar pita chips.

I'm looking for suggestions to use it for an appetizer or dessert to take to a party.

I'd try it in these thumbprint cookies instead of preserves in a heartbeat....

Oat Bran Thumbprint Cookies

3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
1/2 c. packed brown sugar
1/2 t. vanilla
2 egg whites (or 1 whole egg)
1 c. oat bran
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 c. quick oats
1/4 t. salt
1/4 c. finely chopped walnuts
2 T. oat bran
preserves

Heat oven to 375-degrees F. Mix butter, brown sugar, vanilla and egg whites in large bowl. Stir in 1-cup oat bran, the flour, oats and salt. Shape dough into 1-1/4-inch balls.

Mix walnuts and 2 T. oat bran in small bowl. roll balls in walnut mixture. Place about 1-inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet; press thumb in center of each. Fill thumbprints with preserves. Bake until light brown, about 10-minutes. Remove immediately from cookie sheet.

Makes about 3-dozen cookies.
I'm adapting a recipe that uses sugar and cinnamon in it to Apple Cinnamon Jelly. You may need to adjust the amount of jelly and may need to add a little water. Apple Skillet Melt 1/3 c. butter over medium heat in a skillet with a lid. Add 1 T. cornstarch and 1/2\-3/4 c. Apple Cinnamon Jelly and mix well. Add 4 medium apples, halved and cored, cut side down (or you can do apple slices). You may need to add a little water. Cook, covered, over medium heat for 12\-15\-minutes or until apples are tender. Baste apples with sauce occasionally. Arrange an apple half in an individual serving dish and spoon more sauce over each half. Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Make homemade applesauce and add some jelly to it. \-Grainlady edit: Should have added crepes to the list..... Toast?

Why not use it in place of raspberry preserves in these cookies. They are great and very adaptable to what ever is on hand.

Roselin's Raspberry Bars

2 1/2c all purpose flour
1 c sugar
1 c chopped pecans OR walnuts
1 c butter, softened
1 egg
1 10 oz jar raspberry preserves

Preheat oven to 350ÃÂ°

Grease a 9x13" baking pan. In a large mixer bowl, combine all ingredients except preserves.

Beat at low speed until mixture is crumbly about 2-3 minutes.

Reserve 1 1/2 c of crumb mixture. Press remaining crumb mixture into baking pan.

Spread preserves to within 1/2" from edges of the unbaked crumb mixture. Crumble remaining crumb mix over preserves.

Bake for 40-50 minutes or til lightly browned. Cool completely and cut into bars.

Cathy, Since the basic info on head space, processing time, sterilizing and sealing jars is the same for all jams and jellies, depending not on the recipe but on the size of jar, your altitude, whether you have sterilized, etc., I guess they figure it's easier to just refer people to the info that came with the jars. When you've canned a bit more you'll either remember or, if you're like me, you'll simply be used to looking it up in the Ball Blue Book or online --- or asking here, which was a smart thing to do! Here is a website that gives a lot of good basic info for future reference as well. (Under J, find 'jelly' and you'll see on the list 'Making Jelly with Added Pectin' and 'Making Jelly without Added Pectin,' for example, with detailed instructions, processing time, head space reminders, etc.) Good luck with the jelly. As it's a cranberry apple it probably set up too quickly. For a jelly like this you have to be speedy getting it into the jars. Also, if you poured the jelly into the jars from too great a height, that will tend to further aerate it, so be sure to use a ladle or hold the lip of the pan as close to the edge of the jar or funnel as you can manage. Just in case no one told you yet today, Grainlady, you are so appreciated! Since I know you’ll understand, ironically, I didn’t continue in the background section a possible soy allergy/intolerance that needs testing (mine:) I’m the one with the nut allergy too. There’s possible fructose intolerance with FODMAP diet exploration going on also:) On the positive side, there’s a high level of appreciation when we find something that works for everyone. Yes, the milk allergy is a game changer and has expanded my horizons. I make Sourdough biscuits for him (revised adding more flour) and am going to experiment trying it with shortening/butter flavoring instead of margarine based on your comments. As an aside, we're a family of runners. This young man will participate in the Boston half-marathon next weekend and can polish off a recipe of biscuits with bowls of minestrone like no other:) Interesting about the Silpat/non-stick foil for the cinnamon chips (read one poster in the comments asking about that but no response) I’m going to try some modifications now that I’ve made a batch per specifications. I’ve never purchased cinnamon chips and can’t make a comparison, but I will say these are very good and baked very well. I'd recommend giving it a whirl since you have a healthy supply of cinnamon! It's too late, probably, but the juice is fine. I often get impatient and squeeze the contents of the jelly bag and get cloudy jelly, but it is still perfectly safe and tastes fine. If you taste your strained juice and it tastes good, it's not scorched, it's fine, use it. Annie

Brie Bites?
Buy filo mini cups (in frozen food section, 2 pkgs of 15) and a wedge (or small wheel) of brie. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Cut the brie into pieces that fit into the filo mini cups. Place a brie piece into each filo cup. Bake for 10-15 minutes. Top each brie cup with some of the jelly. Serve.
