Good Thoughts Needed

For my Aunt Joan - Joan Kaufman who lives in St. Louis, Missouri.

I received an email today from my cousin's wife informing me that my Aunt Joan suffered a massive stroke and things look grim. 2 weeks ago my Aunt fell backwards and broke her pelvis. She was in the hospital on the mend when she suffered the stroke.

My Aunt Joan is a fighter, she has suffered strokes before, has had heart surgery more than once and has had spinal surgery and has always come through with flying colours. Her constitution has always been good.

I haven't been to St. Louis to visit my Aunt for a couple of years. My Sister Marjorie goes often and is really close to my Aunt Joan and had lived with her many years helping to care for my older cousin Marguerite who had brain damage since birth.

My cousin Kurt went to see his Mom today and they had a good coversation, then after he left she called her other son Gordon and talked to him. Almost as if to say good bye. She then suffered her stroke.

This time it is not so good.

Aunt Joan is my last surviving blood relative of my parent's generation and the last of my Dad's siblings.

Thank you for any good thoughts or prayers you can offer for my Aunt so that she gets through this or at least doesn't suffer as she waits to join her husband and daughter.

And some prayers, as well, for healing and recuperation, if possible, and that things turn out for the best.

Sending positive thoughts. All injuries are caused by someones momentary poor judgement. That is why they are called accidents and that is one of the ways we all learn. Maybe someone will learn from reading or hearing of Danny's misfortune. Certainly his friends will. I hope he recovers fully quickly.

Anne, so sorry about your Aunt. I can empathize; I have no living aunts or uncles now, and I often go back in my mind and think about the times I visited them and how I looked up to them as being "special".

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers. I am sure my Aunt Joan would have been tickled pink that people were thinking good thoughts and saying prayers for her.

I haven't heard anything more about my Aunt's condition but when I find out anything I will post it here.
