march.....in like a lion/out like a lamb.

personally, we had one real significant snow storm. that's plenty. i'm seeing signs of spring, i have one section of crocus all in bloom and the tulips and daffs are starting to peek through the ground. the last thing i want is more winter and i feel for those that can't get out from under it.

They say we'll be -15 tomorrow, with the "B"lizard word being thrown about. My "will winter ever end" blues have set in. I'm fighting them tooth and nail but after six months I start wearing down.

I'm supposed to go into GF for a mammogram at 4 p.m. Maybe I'll get to reschedule!

I saw the weather map last night and though of you Dakota gals!

Hopefully warmer weather blows your way soon.

It is cold this morning and supposed to get very windy. Nothing as bad as you all are having though.

Here in St Cloud it is 31 and we didn't get any snow during the night. Most of the night was above freezing, which is encouraging.

Yesterday we saw our first robin and a big flock of finches arrived. I hope they can find shelter for a couple days.

We sure have had plenty of "Winter" this year. Perhaps it was Fall that we missed out on! Spring begins on the 20th. I think we might even have warmer weather by then.

I had an appointment in Fargo for tomorrow, but will have to reschedule. DD, who lives there, called me on her way home from work yesterday to tell me the weather was horrible, and she could hardly see a thing. SO, GET OFF THE PHONE, DEAR!!

Yeah where is spring????? It will come about the 4th of July!
Marie the deer are starving over here because there is so much snow cover. I heard of one walking into a farmers yard and keeling over dead.
Last weekend we made a trip to the capital city. In the middle of the country (AKA no where) there was a herd of 200 or more deer! In a corn field. They didn't move either, cars stopped and looked and so did the deer. It was hairy coming back through that area at 11pm. Deer on the road. Not all 200 or more but 10-12? In the middle of the road and grazing along it.
No school here and further east. DD couldn't even see the lines on the highway to make it the 15 miles to work this morning.
DH works at the local radio station, it is boys BB tourney time (regionals) its still on as of now. I imagine they will cancel too as some of these towns won't be able to make the hour or more trip to the center where they are played.
I'm so stinking SICK of this!!!!!!!
I sure hope this is the last blast for the winter?? Its going to take a good month or more for all this crud to melt. We have mountains in the next door lot, its empty and I do mean mountains of snow! At least 8 or 10. Its depressing here.

Did you hear of the ambulance accident yesterday? It was from my town, so sad.

Carol I'd cancel that mammo. Hate to tell you that, but its going to be nasty in your neck of the woods too. Better safe than sorry.

So much for global warming

We've had our share of winter here in the PNW also. Not near as extreme as in the midwest, but unusual for here.
There is snow on the ground right now, and freezing temps.
Very unusual for mid March.

Well its really getting bad...worse I guess. Almost the entire eastern part to the central part of the state is no travel advised. Visibility is less than 50 feet. Snowdrifts all over the highways. Windy.Snowing.Cold.
I-94 has been closed since 7 last night. There are people driving AROUND the barriers to get on interstate! THe HP made a statement if you're stupid enough to do that and something happens you will sit until this is over. GOOD for them! Blizzard warning is in effect til 1am Weds.

Well, it's supposedly -4 right now; I don't know what the wind chill factor is.

The wind is whipping and howling. The base is closed. I did my "suck it up and be a big girl" storm routine; I bundled up, topped off all the birdfeeders, and put extra sunflower seed and cracked corn on the ground for the squirrels. It must be really cold out; there are five of them out there now and normally they don't "share." Same with the woodpeckers. I had three on one suet feeder.

I canceled and rescheduled the mammogram. They wanted to write me in for Friday, the 13th. For a mammo? I don't think so. My response was Steve-Martin-type "Noooooooooo." I don't do anything on Friday the 13th. It's reset for the 19th.

Now I'm off to put suet in the backyard feeder, then I'll put Sam down for his nap, and I'm hunkering down with hot tea and BBC comedy on DVD. Life is good.

It's still mostly sleet/rain in the Twin Cities. I took the bus in today to avoid driving home. It is going to all freeze, of course, over the next day or two and (once again)make the streets and sidewalks sheets of glass.
