Anyone have Lyon Workproducts barstools? (PICS)

It looks like DH has approved the schoolhouse lights (yay!) - I am inspired by one of the photos I posted. We are looking for barstools that are pretty indestructible, as this is a beach house and we often come in grimy from the beach.

It comes in "putty" which looks like it's a pretty close match to my glazed cabinets. If not, I was thinking of taking them to be painted. (cousin has a powder coat booth.) DH will likely want the ones with backs - but they are so CHEAP!! Backless, $50, $70 with back. (no pic of the putty to upload.)

I'm curious if anyone has these, esp. in putty, and how the color looks. The swatches on their site are useless, though I saw a pic of their lockers in putty, and it looks like it might work.

Would these work in my beach house kitchen? The price is certainly right. :-)

I remember seeing these stools in the Martha Stewart Living magazine where her latest kitchen was featured. It's still on the website. I thought I remembered a mention of the stools being made by Lyon, but I don't see that here. Pretty sure they're the same though. Your cabinet color is similar to her's too.

Thanks frankoma! I saw one of these pics on the Willow Decor blog - though I didn't send it to DH (he's out of town) b/c he'd think the gray was too industrial and wouldn't be able to envision the putty. ;-) I do believe they are the same stools, though, but with the adjustable legs. All my internet searches have pretty much only found these by Lyon in this style.

if they're good enough for Martha, they're good enough for me. LOL I'd love more pics if anyone has them.

timber I saw that! That's what sort of got me going - then I saw this pic on the Schoolhouse site. One of the kitchens in the Willow entry are the same backless stools in gray, in Martha's kitchen. :-) I LOVE the Giannetti design ones - but I think they might be too much, plus they're WAY out of the budget. Those lyon stools with backs are only $70 each!!!! Palimpsest, maybe you're just telling me what I want to hear, but thank you for your input. :-) I really value your opinion on here. (not that I don't value others, of course!) Aww timber thanks for asking about kitty. This is the first really warm day we've had, so she and I are sunning on the deck, which she loves. :-) She isn't looking too hot (has a cancerous bone tumor growing on her jaw, poor baby) but she seems pain free and happy. she scared me earlier in the week when we got some blood, but it seems to have stopped. I think it's b/c her upper teeth were poking her lower gum, which is pretty deformed now. So sad. Yes!! The sink got installed, everything turned out OK. DH is at the house now, likes the island as is (I assume you saw that post) so it's staying. Whew, one less thing to worry about. :-) I am still waiting for him to send me pics. *tap* *tap* *tap* I should have just posted this pic to begin with - GC still has to do filler piece between sink and cabinet doors. (among other things LOL.)

Thanks, everyone! Looks like the brushed steel stool is the clear winner! Yes, it is definitely more comfortable. The manufacturer is Callagaris and the style is "Hi". I found them at Slater/Marinoff in Berkeley, CA, but they can be found on-line. Does anyone have advice on protecting the floors from getting scratched? I've tried good quality adhesive felt pads, but they tend to eventually come off and leave sticky residue on my floors. Thanks again to everyone!

I have one that has to be 40+ years old.
It was my dad's garage/workshop stool.
Mine was repainted bright silver a decade ago or so, and it probably could use some new rubber feet, but structurally it's still sound.
