Annie . . . Thank you for your info. Well . . . I believe they are brugs, but until I see a bloom, I won't know for sure. But the previous owner (who gave them up because she had to move into a situation where she could not take them with her) said they were Angel Trumpets. After finding this site, I asked her which direction the flowers grow and she said down, so I enlightened her about Brugs vs Daturas which she did not know. She says that one of them is salmon colored, one is peach, and one is yellow, but I don't remember which is which. As I stated before, she said that she has never smelled anything from hers. I will be waiting for your pics. As for my neighbor and her problem with baby brugs popping up all over her lawn, hers was definitely a brug because the huge yellow flowers hung down over her fence and, because her backyard runs along a narrow, one-way alley that is heavily used by neighborhood vehicle traffic, people complained that the flowers kept hitting their cars. As a matter of fact, I got all the way to work one day, got out of my car, and found a blossom stuck to my car antenna. I got the impression that the babies were more like runners than seeds. I was just over there and she is still pulling them up as she sees them. Karyn . . . thank you for the pics. The leaves on one of mine (the one with the partially severed Y) looks like your first picture. Some of the larger, lower leaves are somewhat jagged (sort of like a big pointsettia leaf as Annie described), but not all of them are like that. I can't see enough of the leaf in your second picture, but the flower sure is beautiful!! I will spend some time looking at pictures that people have posted on this site to try and get some idea of what I really have. Annie . . . How do you smell the leaves? Do I have to snap them? crush them? I get very close to mine because I am constantly looking for evidence of blooms, and I have not detected any smell at all. My leaves are all smooth . . . none of the plants have hairy leaves. If someone could tell me how to post pictures, I will do that and maybe someone can help me identify exactly which I have. Oh if I could only get a bloom!!

thanks all for the lovely comments! i'm just now getting around to the questions/comments as i've been busy bargain hunting on ebay. (picked up a beautiful chandy w/ matching smaller yesterday ...see below) for just under $200 including ship! comfortdog: if anything, the gallery seems to have reduced cost as it reduced the square footage. we're thinking of popping holes in every ceiling. ;^) lyfia: the closet for that bedroom will be a built in so i didn't want any surrounding walls. it won't be a walk in or a reach in. the drawers and cubbies will be exposed. canobielake: i have a rough plan for the kitchen which seems to change daily... see below: sweeby: thanks for the tips and yes, the kitchen is large. and i'm working with it to hopefully use as an advantage. i have a good idea where everything will go and feel comfortable with the size. the house will be used for a lot of entertaining and we will be here for many years. while the architects plan shows only general placement it's not at all what the final layout will look like. the fridge and freezer are the thermador freedom towers and they will be separated so the fridge is closest to the range (all 60" of it) on the opposite wall. there will be at least one prep sink in addition to a beverage fridge and two dishwashers. the 12' wall closest to dining room will house a desk, wet bar (there will be a sink) and baking center. i've spent a good two years working it out so far so hopefully it will operate as intentioned. you will see a LOT of me at the kitchen forum a LOT more as the planning develops. i'll be the one begging for help! about the master closet: i also have plans for that area which has somehow grown on me. the rear of that space wlll at some point serve as a cedar lined closet. until then we will use it as a bowling alley. if you think i'm kidding, just ask my four and five year olds! jaymielo: the small space at the end of the L is a small sitting room. as for the two lavs, it was the one of the first things i thought of! we've been married for fifteen years. i know what goes on in the bathroom when dh is there. i have no need to spend all of my time with him, if you kwim! rhome410: the kids (as well as dh and i) will use the mudroom entrance through the garage. there is an entrance to the garage from the back yard as well. there's also a small secondary powder room right outside the mudroom. for dirty clothes a stackable washer dryer will be housed inside the mudroom closet. we plan eight feet for cubbies which will include open space for hanging and also drawers and open shelves. there is also another six foot fun of cabinets for additional storage: cleaning supplies, extra pantry and just plain stuff. this my bargain of the day. a six light chandy. i bought the matching four light as well: Here is a link that might be useful: cool chandy

You do realize that the Bravos have electronic boards in them too don't you? I'm curious about your board problems before. I don't suppose you have a good surge protector on there? I'm wondering if you are having some surge issues. In fairness, yes, the lid and such is plastic on the F&P. But what's wrong with that? It won't rust! F&P is known for high quality construction where it counts. The early Cabrio/Oasis/Bravos had big issues with rusting on the metal components. I'm thinking it might be resolved since I don't hear much on it anymore but a plastic lid can't rust. F&P have very few moving parts and I'm told they're pretty good units for a DIYer to repair. There's not a lot of units that don't use electronic components. Just be sure you know what you're getting. Also be aware that a C/O/B claim of 4.7 cf capacity is misleading. They don't wash 4.7 cf worth of laundry. That's an (upward) adjusted figure to "compensate" for the lack of an agitator to "compare" washers. I believe the capacity of a C/O/B is about 3.8 cf IIRC. Someone else could probably give more detail on it. That does sound like a heckuva good price on that washer though.

Raven, that is so kind of you to make sure he has food and water and don't mind him staying in the cats' condo. If he can stay there and rest, he just might get well. Possums are amazing in their ability to heal. I have one right now that came in with one baby and on her back was a huge wound. She had been caught in a trap with the babies and with no food, they had started chewing on her. The back is a common place that they will chew. They will also chew on the faces of their mothers. Mother possums chew food and let the babies take it from their mouths, which is probably why they get their faces chewed on. She only had one baby when brought to me, but the others probably had escaped out of the trap. I took the remaining baby from her, so it wouldn't chew on her any further. People will trap them...usually in the process of trapping feral cats, and since it is "just an old possum" they don't get in any hurry to remove them from the trap. Plus, most people are intimidated by them and can't get them out of the trap very easily anyway. My mama possum is almost well now. Her injury was the size of a silver dollar, or bigger when she came here and is about like a nickel now. I was just thinking last night how much she enjoys the food here. I fed her yogurt and kibble and a dish of bananas, grapes and avocado. Possums do drink a lot of water. If the possum is hanging around, you might give it a little bit of left overs, if you are so inclined. They will eat anything. On the other hand....while I have seen many possums heal from horrific injuries, I have also seen those that look to be perfectly healthy, go down and die within a couple of days. And, their life span is very short anyway. A two year old wild possum is an old one. Thank you for caring about one of the most misunderstood of all creatures.
