WOW!! My DS and I just zipped to the mall for a bit and when we walked out it was pouring and hailing! Did you all get it in your areas this was a bit after 7pm! Crazy weather today. We had a wind tunnel whirl through our yard today also.

Moni, we were getting ready to go into a corn maze. They give you brooms to hold up high if you find yourself lost. That way the people at the lookout tower can see you and help you out. Flamey, I too thought of MaryRose at first when I saw the gal in pink and I know she was there that day but I don't think that is her. Charlene, I wish you could go too. My mother's husband of three years has a dd and SIL who live in Tupelo. They go there to see them two or three times a year. I told mother that I would like to drive them there the next time they went, now that school is out. I'll get in touch with you when they plan to go again. Maybe we can meet in person. What a crowded meet! We were packed in there with swimmers, spectators, meet officials and vendors. I'm wearing my wide brimmed sun hat & sunglasses. Out of this sea of people, I hear "Laurie!" and I see it's Yoga Lady! How you ever spotted me was amazing. One clue that may have assisted you... I was wearing my bright orange print blouse...same one I wore to Jodi's get together. It was fun seeing another Kt'er : ) Yes, Jodi...I'm in!

well said Mona..we all have lives and sometimes they get in the way of our postings...it certainly doesn't mean that we don't care and there's hardly a day go's by that I don't think of you and the battle you're dealing with...I'm right there with you and together someday...we'll look back on this and do a big ole sigh...Motherhood sure is hard sometimes isn't it?

Abby did you go to the art show in LQ this weekend?? I wanted to go but was way to lazy we were in LQ a couple of weeks ago I loved it there~~we went to 'Art Under the Umbrellas', I liked it alot.

WOW! We had such heavy rain and hail here and you all had nothing how odd is that:)

Central California and the coast got hail yesterday! Windy today - they have a high surf advisory until tomorrow 4:00am.

Hi Lunchlady. I did not make it to the Art show. I have been to it but actually like the Southwest Arts Festival held at the polo grounds better. If you ever make it into Kohl's in LaQuinta look me up. I would love to meet you.

We usually don't get the rain the other side of the pass gets or that you get on the other side of 10. We are very lucky.

We got a lot of wind later in the day,and a few sprinkles,but not the rain the weather man said we would get.

I live in So cal and we got no rain...they said we could but it never got here. I think the wind was blowing so hard the rain didn't have a chance to stop here! It was sooo windy last night! It blew the top off of our gazebo and blew it to the yard next door....luckily it wasn't ripped. Windy again today but so far not as bad as yesterday. It's a cold wind too....brrrrr!!!

Went to Santa Maria this weekend and it did rain yesterday. No rain today, but it was extremely windy this morning when we left.

We went to a beach-view restaurant but chose not to sit at outdoor tables because the wind was so strong it was blowing the napkins away.

Well, I don't even want to talk about the winds (35mph) and high swells we experienced today on a whale watch cruise at Catalina Island. And, to make things worse ... no whales. :-(

The ride over was incredibly rough. We were supposed to circle Catalina Island once we got there but it was too choppy on the back side of the island. So many people were sick that the captain dropped about half the boat off at Avalon to recuperate, the real brave ones stayed on board. I stayed on board, not because I'm particularily brave, I just wanted to get my $115 worth.

We putted along the front side of the island, found a few dolphin and sea lions but nothing more. The captain apologized and dropped us off in Avalon for a couple hours of sight seeing and then we headed home. The trip back (26 miiles, ~1 hr) was nice and calm (in comparison).

My DD (age 22) had to take so much Dramamine (plus she wore my SeaBands) that the moment we got home she crashed on the sofa and went sound to sleep. Rough day on the seas in Southern California.

No rain Sat night, but yesterday afternoon (Sunday) around 3 we had an incredible thunderstorm and then about 20 minutes of rain. It was very strange.

Our weather was windy over the week-end but we never got the rain they predicted. Must have hit other areas around us I guess.
