Is there a way to bend pvc?
Comments (27)The EPA has listed PVC as a carcinogen. Burning or heating it is believed to release dioxins. I'm not up to speed on adverse health consequences regarding silicon implants, but many toxins once believed to be safe have proven otherwise. Asbestos and lead are good examples. They are both relatively harmless unless one disturbs them, ie by removing asbestos and thus releasing dust from this material into the air or by sanding lead paint, or unless one has persistent contact with these substances for instance workers in plants where these substances were used. Dangers of contact are heightened for very young children as well as unborn children. Comments (4)OK, I solved the mystery. I removed the base molding that was nailed to the back of the vanity and the water suddenly spurted from the plastic heating pipe running behind it. As long as the nail was IN the pipe, the water had periodically leaked from the hole, presumably when the heat kicked in and the pressure increased. Removing the nail was like pulling a finger from the dike. I replaced it with a tack, turned the thermostat off to reduce the pressure, and am now waiting for a plumber. Thanks everyone for the advice....See MoreReplaced Hot Water Heater but still no hot water

Comments (13)Nothing wrong with flex pipe on a water heater. 99% of the problems come from people not knowing how to install it properly. If you look at a new water heaters supply and outlet nipples. You will notice a red and blue plastic insert. Those inserts are mainly for sealing the connections. Now when you use a nipple to connect two lines you do not have the plastic inserts to protect the rubber gasket in the hose connecter flange. Thus making them very easily to damage and causing leaks. Once the rubber gasket is damaged you can never get it to stop leaking no matter how tight you tighten it. Been using them for years and have had very little problems....See More- 18 years agolast modified: 9 years ago
