Texas Tour 2009 update

MaryAnn and Eva are on the mend so we have set a date to start the Texas Tour. If there is anyone that hasn't contacted me and would like to join us at one of the stops please email me at runvswing@hotmail.com This is going to be so much fun with lots of KTer's coming out to meet with us and the others in their areas.

Texas Tour 2009

April 11 Sierra Vista to Van Horn, TX (422 miles)

April 12 Van Horn to Nixon, TX (484 miles)

Arrive at MaryAnnÂs house.

April 13 Recuperation day

April 14 Nixon to Lockhart (45 miles)

Meet DD TX at BlackÂs Barbeque.

April 14 Lockhart to Fredericksburg (105 miles)

Meet with Ruthie G and Buzzard. Spending night at Ruthie's.

April 15 Fredericksburg to Austin (77 miles)

Meet with Gardenspice.

April 15 Austin to Waco (102 miles)

Visit with Jaybird and spend night.

April 16 Waco to Malakoff (82 miles)

Pick up Eva TX

April 16 Malakoff to Tyler (45 miles)

Get together VannieÂs house at 12:30 8 attending.

April 16 Spend night at Kathy TX house.

April 17 Tyler to Katy (277 miles)

Spend night in hotel.

April 18 Get together in Katy 7 attending.

Los Cucas Mexican Restaurant at the Katy Mills Mall 11:30.

April 18 Katy to Nixon (143 miles)

April 19 Nixon to Killeen (149 miles)

April 20 Visit friends in Killeen.

April 21 Killeen to Big Spring (271 miles)

Meet with Lilliepad.

April 21 Big Spring to Midland (43 miles)

Spend night at DaisyÂs house.

April 22 Visit with Daisy.

April 23 Midland to Las Cruces, NM (350 miles)

April 24 Las Cruces to Sierra Vista, AZ (260 miles)

Good grief, what an amount of miles. I kept putting the next town in, and seeing with each town, how far it would be from my house... and the closest is Tyler, but the following day I am supposed to be here, and the day before I am supposed to be in Tulsa...

WAAAAHHHHHH! I won't be able to crash the party. :(

Oh my, what a trip Nita. Have fun and don't get too tired. That's quite an adventure and look how many KT'ers you get to meet and remeet. Be safe.

This forum seems to have slowed down, I still lurk to see what is going on... Well, it has been 4.5 years since I left wonderful San Angelo, TX. Yesterday, I received a paper that told me to leave Tucson. REMEMBER THE ALAMO! Texas, I shall see you soon. I hiked the east and south rim of the Grand Canyon last week, here is a pic. The wife was not happy when she saw this pic.

Nita, I haven't responded to all your posts here and other places, but I've been watching out for them and posts made by others on the Tour. Thanks so much to you and others who are keeping us updated and sharing the pics of you great folks. Such great memories are being made. I'm enjoying Mary Ann's blog, too! :) My Granlan Hugs can't compare to yours, Nita. lolol

I have been looking forward to their visit. Some how I got it in my head that they would be here on Wed...Yikes Buzzard sent me an email and said they were coming on Tues not Wed..so I looked again...yikes she's right...gotta go to the store..

Very well planned. Looks like I will be doing 876 of those miles. I am really looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones.

After all these years living in Amarillo, I've never seen any of those towns, or that part of Texas. :(

Lots of miles for sure, but sounds like a fun time. :)

Glad to hear Mary Ann and Eva are on the mend, too.

Texas Tour 2009 demands a special t-shirt, right?

I love to plan trips. This is going to be great fun. We have been invited for dinner at Ruthie G's and to spend the night there also. Also going to be spending the night at Jaybird's house and I know she will be cooking up something too. Vannie is busy planning lots of salads and other things to feed everyone that will be at her house. After being stuffed at Vannie's we will be spending the night at Kathy TX house and she is planning on feeding us again.

Marilyn C is going to be joining us in Katy and just might be bringing along a baby possum for us to hold. Going to meet lots of gals that I have never met and some that I have met and am looking forward to seeing again.

As I say we will be laughing and eating our way around East Texas.
