A couple of interesting things about the Revitol spammer: The acne product apparently being promoted is listed as having one active ingredient - benzoyl peroxide. Apart from not being herbal, it's the same agent sold in lots of over the counter products. They list a bunch of "inactive" ingredients, including some plant extracts (and decidedly non-herbal sounding things like methylpropanediol). Why sell a supposedly natural product if all the "natural" ingredients are listed as inactive? The herbsncures site linked to by the Revitol spammer makes the following statement: "Allopathic medicine is the conventional western medicine that aims at producing a certain condition in the body which is completely opposite to the bodily condition under the influence of a disease...Although, allopathic medicine provides instant relief but it comes along with some mild to severe side-effects. Besides allopathic medicine does not provide permanent cure as it does not work on the root cause of the disease but on the effects produced by the disease." You're supposed to get the idea that the products they promote are an "alternative" to nasty old allopathic medicine. Except they all seem to be allopathic treatments as well, only with a lot more inactive ingredients. Evidently "allopathic medicine" has gotten to be a catch-all term for "Western medicine" and is used as an all-purpose putdown. What the phrase's users don't realize is that herbalism, as well as most of the "dietary supplements" on the market are just as allopathic as "Western" pharmaceuticals - they're aimed at countering the signs and symptoms that plague disease sufferers. The opposite of "allopathic" is homeopathic - a practice that supposedly ameliorates disease by giving you an extremely diluted dose of something that causes the same symptoms (but is basically just water). The vast majority of supplements and agents like Revitol have in common with homeopathic drugs that they're ineffective for what they claim to treat, but the resemblance stops there.

IMHO .. if i am allowed ... you know.. the slug coalition and all ... its a contact thing ... the liquid is useless once it missed the slug.. but perhaps it might puddle or stay active if applied at night.. and doesnt dry until the next morning ... i guess the issue would be if full contact.. rather than sliming across a little puddle is enough for death .. the dump is probably a great start.. as WE HOPE it also kills all the eggs laying around the crown .. though i am not aware that that has actually ever been proven .. or told to me if it has been ... i would get a 1 or 2 gal tank .... and just go out every few days.. especially in spring.. and kill all the mommas... so they cant lay their 1 or 2 billion eggs early in the season... then after a few weeks.. and a little scouting at night.. i might slacken off if there is no population ... i tried a backpack sprayer.. and found i spent too much time bending over to pick at things.. which doesnt work well with 7 to 14 pounds hanging on your shoulders .. or hurtling off over your head as you bend.. but to each his own.. whatever works is the solution ... after a rain .. actually during.. the slugs come out .. its a great time to go looking for them .. and a quick spray might just kill them .. the spray remains effective in the tank for at least a few days.. but i dont really know how long.. ken

Read the thread titled: "49 guess its the beginning......." We discuss all the good stuff. Unfortunately, it's "normal". I had it pretty bad for about 2 years--now, it's pretty much gone, but, I swear, I think it still happens once a month. I wouldn't take soy. Increasing estrogen will either put off the symptoms until later, or, at worst, be dangerous. HRT, whether natural or not, is still HRT. Asians don't ingest nearly the amount and kinds of soy (concentrated pills, isolated, etc) that we Americans have begun to. IMHO, you should wait it out. Use a mild cleanser with a good Ph. No moisturizer (I don't wear make-up--except for lipstick--never have, never will), no make-up on your skin. Sunblock only when you need it.
