I have the Grohe K4 (same concept at Ladylux) and chose to position the handle in the front because I felt it would be more natural to pull the handle forward to turn on, and then left for hot, and right for cold. I like it that way. The only problem is there is a thin blue/red line on the faucet itself to indicate hot/cold which is the opposite of the operation of the handle. However, no one who uses the faucet has gotten confused.

I am curious about this thread, since in the "normal" position the HOT is away from the user and the COLD is toward the user. If you install the faucet with the handle at the front that would mean HOT is right and COLD is left; contrary to convention. Putting the handle on the left side would be HOT forward and COLD back. The installation instructions for my Kohler faucet (K-790) says to switch the hot and cold connections when the faucet is installed with the handle on the front or on the left but the Grohe Ladylux Pro installation instructions clearly state: "Avoid cross connection. The cartridge is not reversible".

Well, if you have read any of my other posts, I am a HUGE fan of Grohe. I've had them for over 25 years and wish I could have afforded to buy them for every bathroom/kitchen in the house. We bought Moen (junk) for the kitchen and master shower and had to replace them both within a year or so. Delta (more junk) has held up better but the laundry faucet is going next year when I remodel that room and put my Grohe LadyLux back there and get a new LadyLux for the kitchen. The main bath is all Grohe and not one problem. I did get Kohler for the jacuzzi and master sink and I've had no problems with either but the jacuzzi gets little use. I had to replace a part for my Grohe kitchen faucet after 15 years and they sent me a whole new handspray. In fact, they no longer sell it in white, but still manufacture it for warranty parts. Amazing! I was stunned. But you do have to provide proof of purchase for the date so make sure your plumber gives you the receipt. For hard-use areas, go Grohe. Pricey but SO worth it. If you are putting in a faucet in a less-used area and want a different style, Kohler is fine. They offer some gorgeous faucets. Grohe is very contemporary and may not have a style to fit your taste. Ohe important consideration (at least to me) is that you can find the flow restrictor very easily in a Grohe product. We removed it in our Moen in our master shower and the water pressure cracked the handle....twice. Grohe manufacturers in Germany where the stupid flow restrictors are not mandated and so the part is only engineered for USA distribution. We removed it from the new LadyLux handspray and what a HUGE difference. If you can't remove that annoying part, I won't consider that faucet.

I have almost the exact faucet...just a different base...the flared one with the forward-throw lever. I have had to adjust to the amount of water everywhere. It is kind of a bummer since I reeealy wanted this faucet. I think it has to do with water pressure. If you put it on full, the stream is so high above the counter, it just splashes all over the back wall and the window trim and even the window. If I am rinsing out the portafilter from my espresso machine, forget it...coffee everywhere! We have tried to retrain ourselves to just put the water on at a low flow. Better for the environment. Yippee! In my last house, I had a much deeper counter behind the sink because the window was set out, away from the walls, if that makes any sense. I also had weaker water pressure in that house which made adjusting the Grohe Ladylux to a trickle hard to manage. If I tried to just have a little water coming out, it would just stop. The new faucet is a thing of beauty, however, and a big improvement over what I had before. YMMV
