Will my house go KABOOM if the gas line is too small?

I was talking with a plumber earlier today. He went through a possible scenario where I am at risk of a gasline fire if my gasline is undersized.

The questions are arising because of my new tankless water heater installation. It looks like the longest distance chart was not checked by the city or the plumber in my installation.

This other plumber said that if we turn on too many gas appliances (dryer, 2 furnaces, tankless water heater, stove, oven, pool heater, all are gas) appliances may start shutting down and any of the older ones that do not have electronic igniters are at particular risk for failure from inadequate flow and a fire may result.

What do you think? Can anyone explain this to me?
