I think the paint color may be fine, try adding some drapery and a picture or two to the bathroom to warm it up. If you still want to change the paint go with a darker color in the same color family. Look for names like golden peach or Sherwin-Williams Sumptuous peach.

Also if you can try changing out the fixtures and door handles to something that is a warmer color like gold or copper.

You need to add color via towels, art, perhaps a curtain, a rug. The peach is fine but the blue would work also.

i agree the paint color goes good but you need some type of window treatment and accessories-towels,pictures,flowe vase, etc

Without knowing your budget it is hard to suggest things.

Since this is a half bath you may want to go a bit more bold or even wild. How do you feel about wallpaper? Wainscotting? There is a lot of wall space and something to break it all up would help. Tiles might be too much of a commitment to a particular look that would be hard to change down the road and would be much more costly. Wallpaper could really perk the room up.

It looks like the Formica is damaged and part of it missing on the side. Are you planning on replacing it? A new countertop in a different color/pattern could turn the whole look around. Replacing the builder's grade faucets with something that has charm would help. Framing the mirror or getting an oval framed one could perk the room up.

I do not see any lighting around the mirror. Is it up over the mirror? If you are just depending on ceiling lights maybe consider adding sconces around the mirror.

The window could use a bit of softening with a tier or valance.

What is your personal style throughout the rest of the house? Country? Modern? Tuscan? Zen? Nautical? This room is so neutral that it is hard to suggest specifics.

Stumbled on your website looking for something entirely different but couldn't resist "playing" too! Believe it or not, the first thing that jumped out at me about the picture were the wooden cabinets. They were screaming, "Paint me!" It broke up your countertop and kept it from flowing. I always think painted cabinets looks SO MUCH BETTER! And it's so easy. And now for the color -
I would try to make everything match the clay pink in the countertop. To me, no matter how many colors you could try to pick out of the stone, nothing is going to quite look natural. It may take a lot of paint samples before you hit on a natural pink color but it's worth the effort. You may or may not like the color of your countertops but if you want to keep the countertop, in my opinion, that's the only color that works. However, I think it's a pretty color and very compatible to live with. My mother wallpapered a huge kitchen in clay pink and people have flipped over it - everyone who's seen it. It's a lot of pink because she also matched the countertop in pink and the curtains are also pink (warm mauve). Right off from the kitchen is a little bathroom and she made that pink as well and it's been a crowd pleaser. My dad didn't mind either. It wasn't as offensive as it sounds. But as long as your countertops are that color, nothing else looks right even though professionals will probably tell you you can pull out different colors.

And next are the floors. Don't know if you want to change them but a color (another shade of pink) would make it seem warmer and tie things together. If there's such a thing as light, shiny (like the tile you have) pink, that would be GORGEOUS! But you could also go darker pink - but strive for a shade of pink. Or you could do warm wooden floors but that's probably too complicated flowing in with the rest of the house, right?

Don't know if you want to put beadboard on the bottom half of the wall. That breaks up the wall and is always pretty in bathrooms. You could paint the beadboard the same color as you did the top half but it would still add more styling. Another thing that might make the bath seem cold to you is that large, nice mirror. You might want a mirror in a frame. Maybe even an oval shape? Once again, I always like to paint any woodwork and that goes for mirror frames.

Like everyone else is suggesting, curtains help a lot. Maybe light sheer curtains in a shade of pink or creamy off white. Try to avoid grey and beige (real downers) unless the beige is more of an offwhite. Hope this helps and good luck!

My suggestion is to paint the wooden cabinet in an off white. I'm not familiar with the array of off white's out there. Maybe someone else will have a recommendation on color for the cabinet. It definitely needs paint though.

As for the walls, what about a gray pulled out of the counter top? I can't really see what color the flooring is, but I'm assuming it's matching the counter.

My first thought was the cabinet as well, it is calling for paint - only 1 cab so you could get that complete in no time - just be sure to prep it properly

Paint - 1st I was thinking the blue gray in counter but think that may not work with the floor. I think I see a latte or mocha color * which may also be the grout color?- that would be nice.

A new faucet set, mocha/latte wall color, paint cab creamy off white - new hardware - nice rug - since it is a powder room you could get a wool rug

A pretty mirror..

Thank you so much for all of the suggestions..keep them coming! I will definitely paint the cabinet. However, I don't know the first thing about painting a cabinet. Can someone suggest an off white paint color for the cabinet?

Next, I plan to buy a rug, paint the walls, and put up curtains. I'm getting excited just thinking about all the possibilities....

Check the *Paint Forum* here. They know so much and there are a couple of experts who post there regularly.

Read the archives first. There is already a lot about how to prep and how to choose the right paint for the right surface. A brand called Cabinet Coat (?) has many fans. Remember, you do not have to just go with just plain 'ol White for a cabinet.

Also the *Kitchen Forum* has posts about painting kitchen cabinets and the same guidelines would apply for painting cabinets in the bathroom.

If wallpaper/wainscotting is out, consider stencillings. I'm not talking about 80s ducks and hearts, but something fresher and contemporary. Maybe just do the lower half in a tone on tone stencil? Bamboo? Damask? Endless possibilites..........

Use the search term *wall mural* stencil when seeking to avoid having to plow through teddy bear and geese borders.

I would also, depending on your style, suggest putting candle wall scones on either side of the mirror. Frame the mirror. Put something above the toilet, maybe a large picture? Wainscoat wallpaper would be inexpensive, you could do the whole room with one role. The floor is a good place to get some style, a rug was a good suggestion.
