a question about car trips and driving

I saw another thread where someone was talking about driving on car trips and I have a question of my own. In my work, I have to drive (by myself) occasionally and I'm not a big fan of long hours of driving and/or long car trips.

Lately, I've been going places where there's no train service and marginal airplane service (requiring several stopovers, etc.), so I *have* to drive.

So, here's the thing. I just returned from a six-hour trip and I have learned that six hours on the interstate is too much for my 48-year-old self. I have to take this trip again and I'm going to do three hours - and stay in a motel over night - and do the next three hours the following morning. This trip also involved mountain driving (WV, near Charleston) and I find that even more challenging.

So, how far can you drive SOLO before needing an overnight stop? I have now learned that four hours is really my limit. Please tell me I'm not the only one who doesn't like driving long distances alone.
