Favorite song for little kids?

After all the great suggestions for sad songs, thought I'd post another. My grandkids like many different songs, but their favorite that they ask for over and over and dance like crazy to is, 'Beep Beep' by the Playmates. Even the smallest GKs dance slowly at first, say 'beep beep' at the appropriate moments, and are dancing as fast as they can by the end. It's fun for everyone to dance with them or just watch. DD says Drew (age 3) walks around singing "I wanna be a rock starrrr" Its from sone popular song out now I am clueless as usual! Last summer Miss Maddie was singing the girlfriend song!

Barb, I kid you not. I didn't know either of those songs were regional...and no..they don't play them on the country station LOL! Walking 'round in womens' underwear is sung to the tune of 'Walking in a winter wonderland' and the hippo song is sung by a little kid...I think a girl...but like 5 years old so it's hard to tell. I should probably call Bully to let him know he can have his CD back anytime :-) Dawg

Red Lover beat me to it, my favorite is also Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. It's such a bittersweet song; it captures the joy of the season but also something I think every year--how precious it is to mark a holiday and have those you love with you. Especially as I (and those I love in my family) get older, it is a thought that resonates with me. I don't ever sit down for Thanksgiving or Christmas without silently giving thanks that we are all together making another memory. "Through the years we all will be together, if the fates allow. Hang a shining star on the highest bough. And have yourself a merry little Christmas now."

I am babysitting our 14 month old grandson for his parents' first ever get away with the other grandparents for a long weekend. I sing a song to him to get him to nap that his mom learned in preschool. "Little Duckie Duddle was sitting in a puddle, was sitting in a puddle quiet small. He said, 'It doesn't matter how much I splish and splatter, for I'm a little duckie after all, quack quack!'" He is not talking yet, but I am waiting for him to help me say the quacks. He loves music.
