providing for pets after you die

Well, my sister and I were discussing wills over the weekend, and I got to thinking. I need to make one, but I have been putting it off because of my pets. For various reasons, I don't have anyone who would be willing (or willing but not able) to take on my pets. What do people do in circumstances like this? I don't want them dumped at the SPCA? Would it be appropriate to leave instructions for one of our local cat rescue groups to take them and find them a suitable home (after checking with the group and also leaving $ for their care?) Should I take a chance with my friends who have cats but let them outside (my girls are inside only?) I am sure I am not the only one contemplating this, and I don't have too many ideas. I am hoping someone else might have some helpful suggestions. Thanks!

Abbey
