Looking for Eggnog Pie Recipe

My Mom always served Eggnog Pie on Chritmas Eve. She's no longer able to bake and after a lot of searching through her recipe stash we are unable to find that recipe.

It's baked in a regular pie dough crust - not graham cracker or cookie. And it's not a cheesecake. I know the filling has eggnog, canned fruit cocktail, and unflavored gelatin in it.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? I would rather get a T&T recipe from here than take a chance with a random recipe from Google search. Thanks!

Wow - this sounds crazy, but really tasty! I may have to give this a try..... I'm sure I am the only one who will eat it at my house, but hey, who cares!

Just use mashed fresh sweet potatoes for this if you don't want to use canned: SWEET POTATO PIE WITH STREUSEL TOPPING One 23 oz can sweet potatoes, drained & mashed (1 3/4 cup) One 14 oz can sweetened condensed milk (like Eagle brand) 1 egg 1 tsp nutmeg 1/2 tsp cinnamon 1/4 tsp ground ginger 1/8 tsp ground cloves, optional 1 unbaked pastry shell Mix potatoes, milk, egg & spices together until smooth. Pour into pastry lined pie pan & sprinkle w/streusel topping. Bake in a preheated 350Â° oven for 50-55 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Serve warm.~~ STREUSEL TOPPING 1/4 cup packed brown sugar 2 TBL flour 2 TBL pecans, chopped 1/4 tsp cinnamon 2 TBL firm butter Mix brown sugar, flour, pecans, cinnamon & butter together. Here is a recipe I copied from a local TV channel recently. I haven't tried it yet. I copied the recipe because DH brought home some eggnog, but our family just doesn't care for it. When I saw the recipe I thought I would use it in this, but the eggnog spoiled before I could give it a try.

Eggnog Pie
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup all purpose flour
2 cups egg nog
3 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
Ground Nutmeg
1 9" unbaked pie crust

Mix the sugar and flour together in mixing bowl. Beat in the egg nog, eggs and vanilla to make a smooth mixture. Stir in the butter. Pour into the prepared pie crust. Sprinkle very lightly with nutmeg. Bake 350 degrees for 35 to 40 min or until custard is set. ENJOY!

Lori, that recipe looks like the one, except that I don't believe my Mom added almond extract to hers. I will give it a try.

Caliloo, it's one of my favorite pies. It has the consistency of a light mousse and the suspended fruit adds textural interest. Even though it's rich because of the eggnog and cream it doesn't hit you as being too heavy. Worth a try!
