Hose Bib with PEX line with copper stub out

Hi. I recently had a garden hose get stuck on the vacuum breaker installed on my hose bib. The torque required to remove the hose and fitting twisted off the the hose bib. Now to my problem, the copper stub out is attached to PEX (on the interior of the wall where it is inaccessible). If I re-sweat the joint, I'm worried about damaging the PEX fitting, etc. My guess is that the copper tube length is 8-10 inches. Can I resweat this joint? Will a compression type fitting suffice for this hose bib? I currently have a Shark Bite fitting in hand but would like to do this once. Your suggestions are appreciated.
