Taking care of a Kohler Black-Black color sink
Comments (5)I recently put in the Kohler Irontones Smart Divide sink in black black because I love the look of cast iron and the black looked best with my black island and tropic brown countertop. I previously had a white island with the Kohler white executive chef sink, which I truly loved. It still looked great at 10 yrs old and I sold it. The black does show crumbs and grease easy, but the white showed stains of tea, spaghetti sauce, etc. It easily cleaned up with comet or soft scrub. I am a bit more careful with my black sink because I fear ir showing scratches or dings. I bought a black kitchaid mat at Target to put in my sink to protect. Would have bought the grids from Kohler, but wanted black and all they sell is SS for a black sink. Stange, but true. I believe they sell black for the deerfield sink. Either way I have become more cautious of lots of things since I found this forum, but have to remind myself that it is a sink that is to be used, not just for looks. By the way, Lysol cleaner shines the black right up. I do not dry my sink everytime I use it or I would have killed myself trying to make it look good with a family. I love the black, but probably would have chosen the executive chef style again as the small side doesn't hold much. My disposal is in that side and seems to backup in the other side if it gets too full of water on the small side. Both sides are the same depth. The small side on my executive chef was higher. Good luck in making your decision. It is one that is permanant for a few years....See MoreDoes anyone have Kohler Black N Tan cast iron kitchen sink?
Comments (1)I've seen this sink in person, and it is beautful. I don't have it, but I think it would be fairly easy to keep clean because it has a texture to it....See MoreBlack kitchen sink - white haze. HELP!!!
Comments (9)Yes I tried the Kohler cleaner. I think I have some Method cleaner I could try. This morning I tried some old Shaklee Basic H I had but used it full strength. It did improve the situation. I don't understand all the restrictions on what to use. I would think this type of surface should be more resilient than the cleaning options they give. Maybe not things you would use every day but for once in a while when the weakling cleaners aren't cutting it....See MoreMix Black Stainless with Black Appliances in Kitchen?
Comments (7)Here is the photo of the kitchen before we moved in. The fridge in the photos is not the one that is there now. We put a 36" counter depth with wood paneling and the exposed compressor grill on top there now. In front on the right of the swing doors is the bar with full counter and pass through window. In a couple of years, we'll replace the counters, cabinets and floors. I forgot to say the floors are not the reddish/pink tint. It's a slight multi dirt brown and yeah. What can I say. Another chapter for another day with the floors. LOL. We have a lot of other priorities to fix and update that are rather costly and can't be ignored. I know a lot of people don't like the Black Stainless Steel but I love it. So the question remains, can we get away with a black dishwasher (to replace current one) and ice maker that will match the lower cabinets when they are painted black if we can't find the matching wood panels for them? Thanks all!...See Morefrodo_2009
