Spell Check?

I don't have the google toolbar anymore, where can I get a spell check? It's not in the yahoo toolbar or my command bar in my new computer. I am so used to using it, now I can't find one. Any suggestions other then a dictionary close by?

Why don't you add the Google toolbar and get rid of Yahoo? i don;t know of any other, although i'm sure they are out there.

An easy spell check is just to right click on the text you are writing, and then scroll down on the pop-up til you see "check spelling",click on that and there you are. Easy as pie...

Very timely. A letter to the Editor in today's paper says it all. Congratulations to Monique Cliche and her letter to the editor about changing the Ontario school curriculum. I say "back to the basics." Once a good foundation has been established the technology can then enhance the learning process. Consider the following: Eye road my hoarse two there house last weak but know won was their. Do ewe no wear they went? Eye rote this note using spell cheque; witch way is write? Can you imagine applications to Teachers College, any university, any business or industry being accepted from a person who relies solely on spellcheck? I was not corrected once by my spellcheck in the above note, yet it is all wrong.

Testing with Firefox 39.0 on the Windows forum... Working for me. "Can it be that individual forums on houzz have different posting rules? don't allow a spell check to be active?" Maybe? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/254712/disable-spell-checking-on-html-textfields I sure don't know why they'd want to though. :)

I received this long, kind of esoteric text from my 7 year old grandson. He doesn't have a phone, but I figured he was watching something on his tablet and decided to text me. It was a bit troubling to me because he's a good communicator and speller, but some of the things he wrote were a bit morose and I got worried about why he was feeling that way. The next day when I saw him, I asked him about it and what was going on when he texted me. "Oh, g'ma, you know those words that pop up when you're writing? I just clicked on those words that came up!" It was pretty funny, when I realized that's what he'd done, written a whole text with autosuggest. Now when he does it (only a couple of times since) I text his parents and tell them he's drunk texting again.

are you using IE as your browser if so use IEspell

works beautifully no need for all those junk toolbars

just a very simple small program that does spell checking

If you use firefox it should be built in

I have Firefox and guess mine is built in as Raven said. It just pops up whenever I misspell a word. I didn't have it when I was on XP though... just Windows 7.

I added the ieSpell last night, I wrote it here but it never showed up. Seems like it will work fine.
I love my yahoo toolbar, I have everything I use listed with icons, so easy to get to.

I have fire fox, and it underlines words I miss spell. Love that. ;)

I use Thunderbird for my main email. It makes use of the same spell checker for MS Word, and that is very convenient. It does not default to the spell checker; The user chooses this option if desired.

iespell will work for your typing into the reply boxes here and other places on line that you would need it to. It should have put a little iespell icon on your browser toolbar. I never use IE anymore but I have used IEspell for years back when I did.

What version of IE are you using? click up top on help then about IE and it will tell you the version. You might try Speckie add on.
