Still really sore.

THey were worried I wouldn't be able to pass gas or "more"..trust me the "more" has been no problem, wish I could stop that!! Any suggestions here would be VERY WELCOME!

Not oon pain meds past advil, not really in "pain" (bet you couldn't tell that from my spelling errors)

Boy this was way harder than I thought it would be!

Lymph nodes came back clean YEA.

Ah, what a great bunch of folks here! It does matter what age and breed of dog. The larger breeds should not receive a bunch of repetitive stress on their joints as they are growing. This would also be true with a little dog whose breed predisposed them to patellar subluxation, of course. What you win is some peace in the house, and tired out kids and dogs. :-) But an adult (over two years) sturdy dog is perfectly capable of fetching a ball up and down an indoor staircase, which is an excellent way to wear them out. If you have kids (depending on their age/maturity) who are also antsy indoors in the cold weather, you can have them train your dog in ways that will wear them all out and save your sanity. Have them play a game where they take the dog down the stairs on a leash. They climb up the stairs. If the dog gets out in front of them, they have to go back to the bottom of the stairs. They can use treats, petting and praise. The first kid who can go from the bottom to the top of the stairs with the dog on a loose leash all the way (no jerking) wins. They can win a chance to choose the video, or an extra story at bedtime, an hour of mom or dad's undivided attention to fingerpaint or color, a chance to stay out an hour later on the weekend, or whatever you feel is appropriate.

It's in the far Northeast Heights of Albuquerque, east off Tramway, and as far east as one is able to build a home. Further to the east is land owned by the state. North just a way starts Sandia Pueblo's land. Our Native American tribes own a lot of land here in New Mexico! My husband's former partner (they're retired now) and a number of our friends live in that same area, so I know it well. Black Bears? Yep! As well as mountain lions, bobcats, rattlers, probably mule deer, too. If any of you have taken the tram ride up to the top of the mountain there, this home is a bit south of the road you take to the tram. It looks isolated, and it is with a nice bit of land around it, but great restaurants, grocery stores, hair and nail salons, etc. are only about a 20 minutes drive down Tramway to the south, and also west on Academy, Paseo Del Norte, and Montgomery. Soooo, it's definitely a beautiful and great area to live. OK, Jinx, buy it and we can meet up for lunches, as I just live a nice drive north of Albuquerque.

Great news about the lymph nodes. For your "problem", try the BRAT diet....bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. If permitted, take an Imodium.

That's wonderful news about clear lymph nodes.
It has been a couple more days and my guess is you are feeling pretty "beat-up" by now. It always seems like the hospital folks like to send you home before the pain a missery really sets in. Take it easy and give yourself plenty of rest.

so glad you're posting!

the dry toast, banana, and applesauce works for me...if you don't respond to that, call the doc asap you don't want to get dehydrated, and have to go back for an iv of fluids...if you're like me, your poor arm is full of pokes as it is...
