40 to 50 minutes. You have a problem. Is the lint filter cleaned out. Is the vent to the outside free of any blockage?

My dryer dries everything in less than 30 minutes.

yep, all that's clear. It's new. Checked the vent to the outside when we moved the old one out.

I'd guess 45 to 60 minutes tops.

Mine takes about 4 to 6 hours. LOL, mine is solar powered, aka a clothes line.

But when I do need to use the dryer (bad weather) it takes about an hour, depending on the size of the load.

It's takes less than 60mins. for mine to dry a load of towels. Be careful not to overload yours. I've done that and it takes longer.

I use the sensor now so I'm not really sure how long it takes. Probably 30-50 min. My old dryer would take 80-90 min for towels but that dryer was undersized for a full washload. Dryer should e about twice the capacity of the washer. Also, is your washer spinning things out well? You might give it an extra spin cycle. That might help.

I try to use the "auto dry" setting, which senses dampness in the clothes and shuts off automatically. One night I put a load of towels in and forgot about them. When I got up the next morning, the dryer was still tumbling. I took out the towels and they smelled burnt. I'm glad they didn't catch on fire!!!

I use the sensor too so not sure, and my washer isn't spinning as well as it did but they still don't take that long.

Have you read the instructions for any settings you might have missed? Mine is old and simple--they way I like things, but the newer ones sound like they've got all kinds of settings.

Might be time to call where you bought it and at least get it on record. I had repair people out here 2-3 times before they got at least one of my gas stove burners low enough for me to simmer rice properly.

Are we talking gas or electric dryers? We might be comparing apples and oranges in this discussion. Gas ones are generally much faster than electric.

Mine is gas, and it takes no longer than 40 minutes for most regular loads, maybe as much as 50 if I have a lot of towels and jeans going in--but that includes the 10 minute cool-down portion of the cycle, so its' only 30-40 minutes actual drying time.

I've got an old GE gas dryer dating to the 1970s. it dries everything in 15 to 35 minutes. The light loads use the shorter time. Very heavy loads of towels and throw rugs may take up to 40 minutes. Selecting the "perma-press care/ anti-wrinkle" option adds 10 to 15 minutes to the cycle for a tumble-cool-down period.

It's not "smart", using purely mechanical timing, but does have one piece of automation that has worked well. It lays claim to a hunidity sensor that optimizes drying time. When the cycle first starts, the timer is immoblized. When the "hunidity sensor" senses the laod is drying out, it start the timer to finish the job. In this way, all loads large and small, can be accomodated with one setting (program) on the dial.

What I conclude is that the 'humidity' sensor is really a temperature sensor. The load says below a certain temperature so long at it is water logged, but as it dries out, the temperature begins to rise and the 'hunidity/temperature' sensor starts the timer to finish the load - has worked like a charm for 30 yrs.

Dry mine on a clothes rack on back deck, and then toss in dryer.

I too use the sensor so as to never overdry anything.

Electric? Does it have a booklet with it? It isn't set to delicate, is is maybe?

Do you have a new washer also? Are you washing the same amount (capacity) as with your old one?

I have the same brand as Moni...couldn't tell you the last time I used my dryer.

Do you have a temperature setting?? When my electric dryer wasn't getting clothes dry in the time I always used I found out I had move the temperature knob to permanent press setting.
