Raynag - Your 'splash looks perfect, like it's always been there which always says to me that it's just right. Must make you feel great. Shannon -- Thanks for the kind words about my kitchen. We just had it repainted as I wasn't loving the original wall color over time. One detail about wall color which may be useful to someone (though I know yellow kitchens are not as hot as gray right now): my cabinets are Plain & Fancy Lemon Chiffon (painted). The Farrow and Ball House White paint is nearly a dead on match. I had everything repainted in that color and I feel it improved the look of the kitchen since the walls and cabinets blend seamlessly. I know many folks want a contrasting wall color. But my thought is that with a kitchen where the cabinet runs are broken up, or there is not an overall "cabinet look," and where there are colored cabinets that lend themselves to this (or small install errors to minimize), the blending in of the walls and cabinets really helps pull things together.

beagle, i will work on it tomorrow for you. who did you talk to you?? i got the recommendation from someone here on GW. did you call majesty in aston?? at least get a price from them and then go from there. as far as IMG, they did a awesome job on the backsplash and the corners. seam is good as far as i am concerned considering the movement in granite. they make up a board, like a painters palette board, and mixed colors to fill in seam. could it have been better..maybe.. but this our first granite and it looks fine. not sure what your;s look like, but the more movement, the harder it is, from what ive been told. if i can figure it out, i will take pics of all for you. how many seams do you need?? when they came to do template, they could have done a seam in middle of sink and middle of cooktop. but he suggested one seam off to side of sink. he said with all the water at the sink and crumbs and splatters at cooktop, in his opinion, it was best to use one seam. not that it would be a problem immediately, but down the road, as in years. so we went with that. good luck and i will do my best to post pics. i know this is a huge decision, sometimes you just have to go with your gut but call majesty and get a price from them. i heard good things about them but like a said, they were priced higher and we went with IMG for that reason.

I'm not back until end of April :( I still really would like to host another get-together at my house for everyone. We talked about it last year but never settled on a date. The first one was so fun but was years ago now. Maybe this summer after we get the pool in, I'll invite you all for a pool party :)

Only for a visit CC. SO's family is out East. I have family and friends out there too but don't get to travel much. Teaching school and summer classes. This June trip will be my first one back since a bat mitzvah in NJ Nov. 2015. I'm gonna try and get to Long Island to see my uncle who is now having to adjust to being alone after 70+ years of marriage to my late aunt. We had to miss her funeral in early Dec. due to weather and illness.
