Yessir. That's true. I have been doing a lot of Moon appreciation this week. I think this month it's called the buck moon. It came up yellow yesterday. I remember walking a dog at 1:30 this a.m. and thinking to myself how the full moon played into military history.

No wonder those leaves looked so familiar, 'many', we have two 'Moraine Locust' trees, and one 'Sunburst Honey Locust'! Is 'Starburst' a newer hybrid? To stay 'on topic' I also have created a new bed out front, with 'August Moons' lining the front edge! I purchased several pots of that hosta and divided them up (year before last) and they are all doing great this year. I expect they will make an impact on the whole look of this area and they are not terribly 'pricey' so if anyone is so inclined to rob me of them--I CAN, hopefully, replace them w/o great expense! What I am noticing in this new area, is the impact of sun exposure! Some get more and others less--and, of course, most of those getting more are responding as you'd think!!! However, (always an exception it seems) one of them that is never exposed to full sun is almost outdoing the others!! Why is that? Oh yeah, I think I recall the comment made that hosta in less sun get larger leaves, but increase less than those exposed to full sun! Hmmmmm! Gonna have to think on that one, some more!

I read this on another site last night: December 12 Â The Full Cold Moon Sky watchers will be dazzled by an exceptionally high, bright, and large Moon. In fact, this Moon is 14% bigger and 30% brighter than other full Moons this year. Why? The Moon is both in its full phase and at a point in its orbit that is nearest Earth, called its perigee. When these events occur together, the Moon is closer to Earth than usual. The effect? The Full Cold Moon will appear especially large near the horizon as the Sun sets. The Moon is also high at this time of year; when it's overhead (near midnight), it will light up the landscape. Take a magical stroll and see your world at night. You won't need a flashlight! On my way outside to check out that moon, Dh says, "just go down to the dark basement and screw in a 7 watt bulb with all other lights out, you will get the same effect". A 'romantic' he is not!
