Love coupons and try to use them weekly. I have a nice pocket size organizer and I can save anywhere from $2-$20 each week. I have learnt the HARD way after clipping a zillion coupons that I would NEVER EVER USE to only cut ones I think I will use.

In Canada there is a couple of great places to get coupons, save.ca (link below) is one. You can pick the province you are from and select which coupons you would like, and usually there is a couple that I can use. They mail them to you at no charge. You can go back each month and pick new coupons so it is one site I visit often.

The other site I enjoy is pgbrandsampler.ca (Not sure how to add a second link, sorry)

Right now they are giving away samples, and usually wonderful coupons come with it, all you have to do is register and answer a survey and then select the products you would like (The Fusion razor is a $10 purchase and if you don't say it is your usual one, you can maybe get it for a free sample ~ both DH and DS swear it is the best RAZOR around)

Oh, yes! I clip coupons from the Sunday paper, and also get on free coupon sites on the web. I usually save about $6.00 a week on our grocery bill, sometimes more, sometimes less.
I never clip a coupon for something I don't usually buy. I'll try a different brand, but not a different product. While in the store, I check to see if the discounted price from the coupon is less than the regular price for the brand I usually buy.
Manufacturers give coupons to get you to try their product. It is often a win/win for both the producer and the consumer.

I do but I think the Sunday papers are giving less coupons out now. I wish they'd have a magazine of coupos. I'd pay $2 if it included over $10 in usable coupons

I have just started clipping coupons and have had great success. I didn't think it would make such a difference but it does. The key is to really look at your coupons and know your stores and prices.

Check to see if your stores will double coupons, that really helps. Even if it's only a $1 off an item, it was a $1 you didn't have to spend so more for your pocket. I have 2 stores where they double coupons in my town.

Also, check to see if your stores have any online coupons that they offer for your local store that you can print off, you Never Know! I have been living next to a store for 8 years and didn't know that they offer printable coupons as well as downloadable coupons to my "club" saver card!!

Also don't ever dismiss the recyling centers next to your grocery stores. They have them here in California, I am not sure if they have them there in Canada. By my husband dumps cans off from our home and work and gets an average of $10 a visit. There you go, $10 extra dollars to use that you didn't have before, that has been a small lifesaver in many ways when I had no money to get anything.

I hope all this come out so you can understand and read it. Basically it kinda went like this, there was a coupon in my local grocery stores adds that offered a $10 off your total after you spent $50. that cut some money there. There was also a couple coupons where after you spent $10 you got a FREE PEPSI 2 liter (limit 1), butter for .99 (limit 1), and a box of cereal (Frosted Mini Wheats) for .99 (limit 1). That cut a few costs there.
So my grand total with out the coupons, club card and my recycling voucher was $93! Then after all the double coupons, vouchers, clipped coupons and downloaded coupons onto mty club saver card it all came to : $22.20!!! I can handle that :)
I tried to put my receipt in a "table" format but it looks confusing. Is it easy to read?

Does my receipt make any sense? If anyone wants I can re-type it. I tried to put in the item, original price, sale (if there was one, on that particular item), coupons for that item (if I had any), total price after coupons and the savings precent that I saved.

Does any of this help? I hope so, I am struggling with my pennies too. I read online that it's best to do your shopping for the week in one trip that way you spend less. It makes sense to me :)

YES! I love coupons! I try to get a Sunday paper every week and get the coupons from that. 95% of the time I use coupons only on items that I would already buy anyway. And sometimes I will use one to try something that I have never tried before to see if I will like it.

Most of the grocery stores where I live double coupons up to $.50 so a 50 cent coupon would be doubled to $1.00. Giant Eagle where I live doubles coupons up to $1! So then a $1 coupon would be $2 off. :) But then, Giant Eagle tends to mark their stuff up quite a bit higher than say, Wal*Mart. But if there is a nice sale that week and you have the coupons for the sale items........its great fun. Wal*Mart where I live doesn't double coupons at all. So that kinda stinks.

Anyway, I normally save at least $20 with coupons each time that I go to the grocery store which is about once every 2 weeks. So about $40-ish a month. Not bad for spending just a few minutes clipping coupons. Right? :)

Yes, I've been using the Grocery Game and Coupon Mom, I don't know if they work in Canada though... they both work the same, by combining coupons w/ store sales each week.

I have recently started using coupons and even though it takes time the money that I have managed to save is worth it.
Some of my better buys...

5 boxes of Peanut Butter Capt Crunch Cereal ALL 5 only $2.00 plus tax
Frozen Green Giant Veggies...10 FREE boxes and about 25 bags only .13 cents
toothpaste.... .24 cents
Dawn dish washing detergent 15 bottles....tax only total of 1.50
Big Febreze candle..only paid .50cents, regular price $7.99

and I could go on and on...the kids HATE going to the store with me now because I have to take in my coupon album and compare prices against what brand I normally buy, against coupon brand..and of course it makes a big difference if the store will double or not.

I go in streaks on using coupons. I don't get the Sunday paper anymore so my sourse of coupons is dramatically reduced. Couldn't justify paying $2 to recoup 50 in coupons. Actually I got the paper for the ads as a convenience and hoped coupons would pay for the paper. When I got the paper for 75¢, it sometimes would pay but still not often.

Now I found that it's a good idea to pull any coupon for a product I would use, whether or not I normally buy it. Not to ger caught buying something I pay more for because of a coupon but for clearance items. I had a bunch of $1 coupons for Old Spice body wash which I like. I found them on clearance for $1.04. On top of that the clearance was on a promo package that was buy1get1 and a free travel size. So for 4¢ plus sales tax I got 2 regular size bottles and a travel size. I bought 4 or 5 of them along with some deodorant that was the same deal, buy1get1 but a little more expensive. I also got some coupons for a free bottle of Tide, up to $5.29. Found it on sale for $5.29. Cost me the sales tax. Sometimes there's store coupons and you can couple a mfgr coupon with a store coupon. I also had a $1 coupon for Tidy Cats cat litter. Normally I wouldn't buy it but Target had a deal for $11.99 for 38# and if you bought 2 you'd get a $5 gift card at the register. Now there's other times I would couple a coupon with a rebate. I had a detergent coupon and a rebate that came out as a net profit, even after tax. Now, I want to make it clear that these are highlights of some of the best bargains I've gotten over the years. I do not get them all the time.

That said, you do need to be organized with coupons. And you'll have a lot of them expire that way. However many stores will take them after they've expired.

Rebates can be great. I like Menard's for their rebates. This past week I got the following free after rebate:
2 crank up flashlights
4-4pks of alkaline batteries
a Drill screwdriver set
Combination square
Framing square
2 bottles of windshield wash/deicer
2 paintbrushes

and there was more that I don't recall. This was a good week. It's been a while since it's been worth going there for the rebates. Granted I picked up a few other things that I needed and I used rebate checks from previous purchases to pay for the purchases. The rebates come in the form of a store credit, but that's fine with me. I shop there. If nothing else I'll still be spending money there since they're better prices than Home Depot or Lowe's.

I have a cousin who really gets into coupons, store "bucks" promos and rebates. But he does wind up buying things with the coupons that he normally wouldn't buy.

I usually try to watch for them for cleaners and health & beauty items. Toothpaste, dish soap, deodorant, etc are often on sale and you can couple with coupons.

Around here only one store doubles coupons and it's only one day a month with a limit of 5 coupons up to $1 each. This is a great time if you have a $1 toothpaste coupon or something since it'll offset the higher price. Occasionally you can catch a sale too.

Yes i like to clip and use coupons but can't get them from the web. The grocery stores won't take those. They say there so many fake ones anymore they no longer except them.

The only coupons I use are for stores like Michael's, BB&B and BJ's. I very seldom use food coupons. Most are for brands I don't use or are for pre-packaged foods that I do not feed my family due to the crappy ingredients that are in them. NancyLouise

I don't seem to use as many as I used to. My local stores only double up to a dollar off maximum (after doubling). Occasionally they will have special promos where they will double larger coupons or triple coupons but usually only up to 6 of them.

Yes, I clip some from the Sunday paper, but am finding out even with the cents-off coupon, I can buy a store brand for less. Also, I am finding the coupons are the same amount of money off only if you buy two or more of the product. Dottie

No, and I probably should give it another try, but I buy a lot of store brands and they don't seem to have coupons for that. My DD#2 does and I save our Sunday papers for her. She uses a lot for diapers and baby things. I just don't want to have to bother w/ it, although DH uses them for restaurants.

I have just started using them. I only use coupons for products I use or have wanted to try. We only have one grocery store in town and they do double coupons up to a $1 value. We can't get a Sunday paper here anymore so I print coupons from the internet. I recently wrote about my coupon experience on My Blog. It's the post titled "I'm Learning!"

I have used coupons for at least 20 years. I have save thousands. Literally. I especially clean up using "triple" and "double". I will say I have never seen so many people use coupons. Over the years I have heard different reasons for not using them. But, me personally, I like saving. I generally give away coupons for things I do not use. I have tried different products using them. Some products, are still not cost-effective even doubling or tripling.

I usually buy 2 Newspapers so I have double the coupons and what I don't need I send the rest to my Mom in Minnesota (who doesn't have coupons in her paper).

I do use Coupon Mom because it's free, but I do not use the Grocery Game. I want to but I don't want to pay for a service that I can do myself. I am still thinking about their $1 Month Trial. But I still go back to the fact that with some effort I can almost do what she does for free. Just keep a ledger on the "original" or regular price of something that you normally buy and the sale prices. Then when it goes on sale you can compare it to the regular price and the last sale price so you can get the best deal for it, with your coupons. I just use my Excel or Microsoft Word Program on my computer to keep track of the prices. It sounds like allot of work and it is at first, but after a bit it's not. I'm only tracking the stuff we buy the most of, which is about maybe 20 items or so.
We are a family of soon to be 4, so not too many people to buy for, yet.

Our stores don't have a limit on to how many coupons you can use, but I will rue the day when they do! If that happens I will have to plead with them to keep letting us use as many as we can/want. But I may have to get insistent on it too, if that day ever happens :)

The only new idea I can think of is using my grocery coupons in our .99 Cent Store. The product amounts are smaller but for the most part the amount would be practically free or in some cases free.

I did read about a family of 6 in Minnesota, that every February (because it's the shortest month of the year) don't grocery shop for food and eat only food in their freezer and pantry. So they "clean it out" and so they can start over and not "waste" the stocked canned goods items. They do buy milk and their splurge item of pop every week, but nothing else. They save $600 a month. They are just an example of an idea to try. I know I have a ton of meat in the freezer and enough canned goods that could get us through a month. I like their idea and plan on trying that next February :)

Again I am still new at this coupon saving stuff too, I have only been doing it for 2 weeks but I really read up on the internet on what to do to save money or what helps us save the most.

I have been using more coupons lately. I saved almost $10 at Wal-Mart the other day. It was on items that I needed. I didn't buy them just because of the coupon. I had been saving coupons for several weeks.

No stores around here double coupons or offer discount cards.
