I had a similar experience with my first Amelanchier. I put it in a moist spot on purpose because I thought it liked it moist. Wrong. It continually had foliage problems and lost a ton of leaves and struggled for a couple of years. I finally decided to move it to a drier (normal, average) soil location. Its done fine there. Do you have a better soil spot to try?

It's the kind that can't be captured correctly by my camera, because it has more orange in the coloring than what you see in the photo. Karen, I'm impressed that you like Ozark Jane. That one's going to have to grow on me for a while. Julie, yes, Wide Eye Bayou and Witch's Stick are a couple of my favorites too. I never thought I'd like UFOs and spiders, until I saw them blooming in my gardens. I love the way they flow in the breezes. Kay, (organic kitten), I'm glad Red Rum proved itself "worthy" of keeping, otherwise I was ready to cull it if it didn't improve from last season. Kay/phal, glad you liked Samar Starfire. It took me a very long time to learn to like the reds. I think I was getting tire of too many pinks, so I branched off into the darker colors. Max...I have the same challenges with some flowers too, that grow in spots where there just isn't enough sun, or maybe the soil is too clayey or dry. Mary, First I would say relax you really can't do any harm to these guys. I have divided them by simply taking my shovel and cutting them in half right in place not disturbing the one half. I have also dug the entire clump up and cut the plant in half with a saw, replanting one half. I have also dug up and potted pieces of plant material for a swap forgot them under a shrub and re-discovered them three years later still happily growing and ready for this years swap. If your clumps are very large make certain your shovel has a sharp edge as it will be difficult to cut through. What other plants are you growing with your sedum?

It's a much cooler and overcast day today. I decided to cut the nicest blooms I have and bring them in. Bishop's Castle had the most, and The Ingenious Mr. Fairchild had one large bloom too.
