Thank you all, my dear, dear friends. Yesterday we had one of those days here at our house -- no water for 36 hours, Freya sneaking a pizza off the kitchen counter, and the smell of fresh polyurethane pervading the cold, damp house.... On the other hand, I had the loving affection of Tom and my DS Jacob, calls and cards from family, and greetings from all of you. And tonight we're going out to dinner to try celebrate again. Carla, Luanne, Jon, Anita, Lori, Ingrid, Sue, Carolina, Pamela, and Carol -- each one of your messages brought smiles and memories to my mind. I just realized that with the exception of Ingrid, I know each one of you in the Real World (as opposed to online) -- Ingrid, we'll just have to correct that soon. The only birthday wish I have left (besides more rain) is to hope that I get to see you all again as frequently and as soon as may be. Rosefolly

Anele...with all you have going on I am so pleased you found this thread and sent your wishes. Thank you ! DH is a special guy. If it weren't for him I know I wouldn't be meditating and that has led to so much more as far as my piece of mind....which he then benefits from. A win/win situation for sure. I am so glad to hear from you and look forward to news of the new little girl when she arrives. c

Hope you have a great day, despite the intense rain. It always used to rain on my birthday in February when I lived in Texas, but here not so much. I hope your yard is enjoying the rain! Keep your surfboard handy!!

Thank you everyone! We're surviving the rain so far - my area isn't getting as much as some. I just checked the back garden and there are some dead plants - we planted a lot of drought-tolerant plants and evidently some do NOT like all this water. But there are two fat guavas on one of the guavas we planted, hooray!

My back yard is on a steep slope so the rain does psyche me out a bit imagining mudslides down the hill, but it is heavily reinforced and we added extra drainage when we landscaped a couple of months ago.

I celebrated w friends last night. One couldn't make it because the freeway was closed and a couple were stuck coming home from their place in Mammoth - tremendous amount of snow up there and they didn't get home until midnight.

My birthday is the day after the solstice so I'm bringing more sunshine to the world! LOL.

Happy Birthday, Gina, I'm having Christmas here at Elery's today with his son, DIL and boys here from California. I guess they came here just on time to miss your storm!

I hope you are celebrating indoors, out of the weather, and that it sure stops raining there soon. Stay dray, all your californians!

Gina,
Hope your day was wonderful. There was a wonderful moment when the sun broke out and the rain just poured down. A fine birthday storm, I thought!
