OOPS!!! Sorry I didn't know that about Jan. 1 being "everybody's" birthday, if a specific date isn't given. Oh well, Happy Birthday, whenever it is. :>) Mwoods, your statement about each year bringing "joy, laughter, and some tears" is so true. None of us ever knows what's ahead for us. But, as my DH says, "It's been a trip, but I wouldn't change any of it!"

Thanks so much for the birthday wishes -- it was a really wonderful birthday weekend. It started at a company party with a surprise birthday gift of a replacement of a ring that was lost (probably stolen) at the accident scene. Then a surprise birthday party last evening at The Vineyard on the outskirts of San Antonio, which was beautiful, the food outstanding, superb service and even the parking lot had some type of reflective glass pieces at night which was a perfect ending to a wonderful evening. The party was thrown by my daughter and god daughter and her husband. Friends and family came in from out of town and it was great fun. Then this morning they hosted a brunch at Mi Terra. Gina, I still have a few hurdles to get over due to the accident, but the main thing is that I am slowly getting over them, maybe not very gracefully, but over them! I am promised pictures of the party and when I get them I will post them. Thanks again for the b-day wishes. Brenda

I hope you have time to take a breath and then kick up your heels on your birthday! I know you've been working like demons to get that restaurant opened on schedule! Let DD and DH spoil you and I'm sure Alexi will make it special for her grandma!

Thank you for all of the birthday wishes. It's been a very nice day and Rio Mambo and margaritas for dinner tonight. We were hoping to celebrate at the new restaurant, but that celebration is delayed a day, so I get 2 celebrations (and 2 meals out...yeaaaay). Aleksi has made me oodles of birthday pictures on her new easel and I won a plasma flat screen TV in a silent auction!

Oops, I missed this yesterday but I'm glad to read that you are celebrating twice (I think you should just party all weekend).

The beautiful lantern that you sent me in the summer swap is filled with Christmas balls, a last minute decision, and I think of you every time I pass it.
