I think those babies still have some growing time if you're trying to duplicate supermarket celery. Figure three months in containers followed by three months in the ground. Right now the outer stalks are perfectly harvestable. If you want fat tight bunches, try using hair scrunchines in a few weeks. Better than rubber bands.

Thanks everyone!! I love decorating for fall almost as much as I love decorating for Christmas! The pumkins were easy to make only took a few hours. They are left over pieces that have been sitting in the wood pile for a couple of years. I just sponged on orange paint and painted some details. Then I coated them with sealer. The idea actually came from some made by gram nh, she posted them last year... it took me a whole year to do them!! LOL!!! Kirk, glad to see you pop in. I fear the postage would be way too much! He's actually falling apart and can't be moved. Something has been eating him from the inside out. I'm glad he made it one more year. Where are your decos for this year?? We need pictures. Ms Pumpkin is a lady cat and she just likes laying in the sun when she can sneak outsid... she is kept inside most of the time... very spoiled! I have added a basket of silk flowers to my iron chair.. still need a new flag pole to put the flag out.

dense turf...ya gotta love it. andy, i did an overseed not a rennovation...i don't think i could go through the rennovation process without pulling my hair out. so rather than do what you did, my plan was to aggressively aerate and overseed with better quality KBG/TTPR every fall for three years. I'm hoping that this course of action will eventually transition 90% or more of my lawn to newer/better turf cultivars...this was year two...i'm doing the same in my backyard, except it's shady so I'm working with various fescues. anybody have thoughts on the best course of action to rid my lawn of bent grass(about 10%, in patches that are spread througout the lawn) I can't stand the way it looks or the way it lays down flat. I'm thinking that next spring I'll just start digging it out and replacing those areas with KBG sod(which might take many hours of work)...OR.. I've also thought about growing a few dozen little 3"x3" pieces of KBG sod in planters under a grow light in my basement next March and then once it's established, planting 3 or 4 of these little pieces right in the middle of each of these bent patches(this also would require some work but i'm thinking it might be kinda fun to grow some pure little patches of elite KBG this winter) anybody care to strategize w/ me on this one?

Hi all, Here are some more photos on those areas requested. And a few answers. Rhome 410 - the hutch measurements are: Bottom is 33" wide by 21" deep (3" narrower than standard) Top is 47" high plus 3" for crown, total 50", depth is 15" and width is 33". Counter top has 1 1/2" over hang on end and is at normal counter height. Gailrolfe - I debated like you for ages on a single sink vs. divided sink... I mostly wanted the big large sink for cookie sheets, large frying pays, roasters, etc... but, I still feared I would miss a second bowl for when you have something defrosting or fruit in a colander draining and you walk by and want to pour old coffee or something else gross down the drain (and don't want them mixed up)...so I went back and forth ...then I stumbled on the Kohler smart divide and it SEEMED to be the best of both worlds. But, the question really is - is it in reality!??? And Yes, in my opinion it is. I did the smaller side, bigger side version for mainly the above reasons -- always a place to keep something on one side or the other you don't want mixed with other stuff.... I hosted last Christmas with 6 families and other females in the kitchen - all agreed it worked great with the big roaster, etc. I think its a smart compromise. Here are some more photos!
