Haha, well I was kinda kidding. When I went to my great grandpapa's in western Texas, I dont remember seeing hardly any trees. Some in people's yards but none along the highway. Just naked flat lands. Proly just thinkin that yall dont have any cause i'm used to seeing way more on the coast here. Here is a sunset from my home town. I cant take credit for the pic though. I found this one on line but we have them like this all the time. I just realized yours is a sun rise. I didn't see them too often back then, haha. The ones here in VA are just yellow and blind me on the way to work :(

That's a scary looking sky you are describing. Midwest and East US has such a rough summer, following such a severe winter, let's hope some relief is in store. We are getting into the dry heat now, middle nineties are just about routine, but our night are still in the high forties, good sleeping weather.

This is Crimson Stella my longest and most prolific bloomer. Introduced by Lowes, 7 maybe 8 years ago .The 'Ruby Stella' may be the same daylily. There was a lot of talk among daylily officialdom as to who was who at the time. I love it. As you see, the foliage gets pretty ratty as usual this time of year, but it flowers on and on.
