Thanks Dave. I opened a jar yesterday and I was surprised. It wasn't as thick as I thought it would be. I piled some on buttered toast and it was delicious! My wife said it's perfect and that my Mother-in-law gets the rest! That's OK, since I have put up more, with less pectin.

Before you click the link I have shared, you should be aware that it seems to not be super PG-13...... Do not say I did not warn you. It is hilarious though!!!! Here is a link that might be useful: Not sure this was a boo boo.... Just WEIRD!

Obviously singers are good. Some floaters can be viable too. I just pick 3 time as much as I need to germinate and soak them overnight. This way I got the sprout in 6 days. Talk to Tim, what you need. Depending on what you need I might have some to. So tell us what you need ? Not to worry. For zone 7/7b you have still time. Seysonn

Plugging the hole and asking for a replacement are two separate non mutually exclusive issues. Such cavities should be plugged in order to not allow insect access. I would inject some pesticide also before plugging but that's me. I have a large grown up lemon tree grafted on sour orange that was damaged during a freeze more than 15 years ago. I had not noticed the damage due to the tree being unskirted until only three years ago when I saw the tree deteriorating. There was a hole and lots of old damage just above the grafting point where the tree was branching out which had become the dormitory of ants and god knows what else. I sawed away as much dead material as I could, injected and painted a mix of undiluted dormant oil, organophosphorous insecticide and copper, repeated that after a couple of weeks and then plugged and covered the old wound with pruning paste. It took lots of it to plug and cover the whole area. The tree recovered and has been growing nicely since.
