Taken this morning...was out and about at 6:00...Looking to do some town on water shots but it was too foggy so made my way back home...

I cropped this one...

Yeah Toronado, the Metasequoia is starting to put out some orange, but with Sandy coming thru thewre is a coating of ice on the ground and probably the trees. It was dark when the ice cover started so I am guessing there is a glaze on most trees. I do have a pic of the swamp white oak it is just a peach color not really red

Jelwell, usually about $1 per 20 sq ft. but this highly varies according to the homeowner. Some are content with just having the area maintained, while others like to milk it for what it's worth. I was rather desperate in the spring to obtain sufficient land to make this worthwhile, so in some cases I paid more than I should have.

Need help storing tulip bulbs - just got some free ones.

Thank you all. We did have warmer weather the past couple of days & I checked my beds where these tulips were to be planted (which has great loose soil & lots of potting soil in it). To my surprise the ground was not frozen and was loose & easy to work up. So, I just planted these numerous bulbs where their home would be and hope they survive. They probably will not bloom well this spring but maybe will do better the next year. I just didn't have the extra soil and didn't want to buy new potting soil to put these into pots, which would probably have been the right thing to do, but I'm just hoping this works. Come up, spring!!

Some real neat photos. Just a thought though, something in the foreground would add depth, especially in #3. Were these the way they came out of the camera or after Adobe? Either way, they are good shots. The reflections in the rippled water add life to a serene subject.

Thanks, Linda...please do post yours, I'm still learning a great deal on this camera, I think maybe the time of day had alot to with the way they came out...

And thank you GTF...I don't have adobe...but I did use Vivid in picture control on my camera, before taking photos and did little basic editing after downloading. I think the vivid really helped alot for the fall colors!

Very pretty, Juanita!

I love trees reflecting in the water.
Here, the leafs are mostly gone now, some weeks ago when traveling up northern Alberta, near Fort Mc Murray, took some shots in a resting area.

I think I could use that resting area at times. A beauty for sure. That cloud reflecting in #1 adds.

Those are all beautiful fall shots. My favorite time of year. My mother used to sing a song to me when I was little. These remind me of it.
Come little leaves said the wind one day.
Come over the meadow with me and play.
Put on your dresses of red and gold.
Summer is gone and the days grow cold.
Soon the little leaves heard the winds loud call
Down they come fluttering one and all.
Over the brown fields they danced and flew
Singing this gay little song they knew.
Winter is coming yo ho,yo ho winter is coming
with ice and snow.
Soon fast asleep in their earthly beds
The snow laid a white blanket over their heads.
