time lapse photography

I've always been fascinated by time lapse photography. Especially the sky. The atmosphere is so fluid. I recently found and purchased a camera made just for time lapse photography. It's completely weatherproof and can be programmed to take a picture as often as every 5 seconds or as slow as once a day. It's only 3 megapixels so the quality isn't that great. I've just started to play with it. This is the sunset the other evening, an hour compressed into 8 seconds.

Yes, I had white plhox ,too; there are still some stragglers down there. All this talk makes me want to give a moon garden another go, and I found out there's a moon garden forum on GW! But, I wondering if there are too many mature trees and taller shrubs now that may not let the moonbeams thru. (Note: Perseids coming soon Aug.12th.(copied from web site): When we say August 12, we mean that morning Â not that night. These typically fast and bright meteors radiate from a point in the constellation Perseus, and, like all meteors in annual showers, they cover a large part of the sky. The Perseids are considered by many people to be the yearÂs best shower when the moon is out of the way during the showerÂs peak. This yearÂs moon is not quite out of the way during the Perseids, but there is a window for meteor-watching in the hours before dawn. The first quarter moon comes on August 8, but full moon is not until August 16. On the morning of the PerseidsÂ peak, the moon sets around 3 a.m. (look here for a custom calendar that can give you moonset in your location) After moonset on the morning of August 12, be sure youÂre already in a dark sky location. Lie back and watch meteors until dawnÂs light washes the stars, and the meteors, from view. )

It's called a plantcam from a company called wingscapes. They also have a camera that is motion activated for setting up by a birdfeeder, for example. They had a booth at a tradeshow that I attended through my brothers greenhouse, therefore I was able to get it at a wholesale price, about 50 dollars plus 7 for shipping.
