Hmm, I'm coming to this thread quite late in the game . . . But, if you're still looking, I have some fun stuff you might like. I have lots of big white callas (the traditional callas that get to about 3'-4' tall), fragrant yellow ginger (Hedychium flavescens), lots of Red Hot Pokers, white Lily of the Nile (Agapanthus) and other things on my trade list. Thank you so much for responding (and for talking me off the ledge!) Sorry I wasn't being clear...I have not yet repotted and was waiting until June to do so. I haven't examined the soil closely, but once when I was lifting/transporting the tree to water it, the pot just fell off the plant onto to the ground. it did make some mess but the potting medium pretty much held together in the shape of the pot. So, I'd say at least "old" if not "bad" soil? Should I look at the roots more closely and if so, what am I looking for? (And what would I do if I found it?) If this guy does survive, I will summon up the courage to repot hopefully in Al's 5:1:1 in June if I can manage to find all the right ingredients (been working on that for some time.) Very nervous to repot something this size. I did spray all the other bigger plants in the house and will now do the rest of them (and this one) once a week...thank you! I knew they traveled from plant to plant....but, hitch a ride on me? I might never sleep again knowing that...lol. Also, I haven't fertilized at all--I know I've read somewhere on this Forum that it's good to do a weaker Foliage Pro all year(?) but I wasn't sure if I should just initiate that at this time of year--even at a weaker strength, much less when the plant is stressed? Hello again gltrap, " Another investment will be a microscope that will enable me to examine ANYTHING that an outside vendor sells me.... " I did not know about Spider Mites. So Spider mites wiped out my indoor zinnia project one year in the past. Their tiny webs are very noticeable, even though they might not be. That year I noticed the webs and the tiny dots moving about on them and thought I was seeing the "cob spiders" that I presumed must be what cause cobwebs. (The cobweb phenomenon is interesting.) But, after a week or so, all of my zinnias died and I realized that they weren't "cob spiders" and I did some research. My son had a microscope, which I borrowed and discovered that I had Two Spotted Spider Mites. However, I also had an 8-power magnifier that was quite capable of viewing them crawling about on their webs. I no longer bring cuttings of zinnias in from the garden to use in my Indoor Zinnia Project. That was just a means of infecting my indoor zinnias with outdoor problems that remain under control outdoors due to natural enemies and harsher conditions. In addition to Spider Mites in my indoor zinnias, I have also had to deal with outbreaks of Aphids (the female baby aphids are born in live birth already pregnant, which seems impossible, but Nature "finds a way"), and thrips. The thrips actually attacked my eyes and face, I guess for the moisture. And destroyed my indoor zinnias. Fortunately a routine dose of a systemic insecticide/miticide will prevent those indoor pests. In the case of Spider Mites, early systemic prevention is required, because a cure is too late. I will use my bottle of Kontos at the first sign of a telltale Spider Mite web. So far I haven't had to use it. You have my sympathy. If it is any consolation, most people learn about Spider Mites the hard way. I certainly did. ZM
