Spinach dip help

My DIL wants to make spinach dip to serve in a bread bowl for Sunday. She would prefer not to use a dried soup mix for the flavoring. We found this spinach yogurt recipe in the New Joy of Cooking:

It suggests draining the yogurt for 30 minutes for a creamier dip - that sounds like a good idea and no problem. Here's the rest:

10-oz package frozen spinach

3 scallions, chopped

1-2 cloves garlic, chopped

2 cups yogurt

2 tbs grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbs sour cream - optional

1/8 tsp grated or ground nutmeg

salt to taste

Thaw spinach and squeeze dry. Mince scallions and garlic. Add the spinach and the rest of the stuff and pulse in food processor until smooth. Refrigerate at least 1 hour.

I only have a mini-food processor but we have a stick blender or regular blender that could get it smooth enough.

We like that this is yogurt based rather than using a high fat dairy base. And we need it to be meatless since we keep kosher.

Does this sound like a good recipe? Any suggestions on additions to zing it up a bit?
