HAVE: Frontline plus for dogs/cats all sizes
Comments (0)I am making available again this year trades of plants for Frontline Plus all sizes. Please email me at catop03@yahoo.com (my garden web email is down) what you have and what you need. I am looking especially for fern peonies, but will accept any zone 4 plant that I don't already have - just let me know what you have to offer. As pet lovers know this is very costly flea/tick control, so I will be expecting good size plants as trades. I work at a veterinay clinic so this is not expired Frontline. This is legit. I'm not here to debate Frontline vs. any other product, that's what the pet forum is for, but if you are interested in trading - send me an email - THANKS!...See MoreFrontline Plus for dogs/cats all sizes

Comments (5)I've not tried the Vectra, but IMHO, Frontline and Advantix were a waste of time and money. The best thing I've found you can get for fleas is Comfortis once a month tablets from your Vet. There's an OTC daily version called Capstar that also works great, but for our multiple dog household, the once a month stuff is the easiest. (Comfortis is not available for cats, not sure about Capstar) Within 4 hours, every flea on your dog will be either dead or dying, and unlike using a dip or a oily drop on the back, the dog is safe for anyone to handle; no poisonous residue. If you also have a tick problem, the Zema Tick Arrest collar, or Preventic brand available at a Vet are the absolute best. Either one is fine to use with the Comfortis tablet. I don't sell the stuff, or own stock in the companies, I just know they work....See MoreFrontline Plus vs Advantix
Comments (9)I can assure you your fleas are not resistant to Frontline (unless they are from a different planet)... so far no confirmed population of fleas resistant to Fipronil... but overwhelming flea infestations are often mistaken for a product not working well. Frontline, as I stated above, is a bit slower kill, so fleas take few days to die... they do NOT, however, have to bite a dog or cat to die... just being on them with the product will kill them all... problem is it does take a few days, while Advantage takes less than 24 hours (not much less, though, so sometimes that product, too, can be presumed to be ineffective in the face of a huge outbreak). All the fleas on all these pets will die. but unfortunately they will all be replaced by new fleas (that's how flea infestations go)... so you need to work on the environments if your pets are being overwhelmed... or switch to a much faster product (like Comfortis, which kills fleas in less than an hour). One of the reasons your vet might not like Advantix is it has pyrethrins in it, a product that has historically been shown to have flea resistance, and sometimes causes neurologic problems in small dogs, and is highly toxic to cats. I am nervous to use it myself sometimes, but it is a pretty good product if used carefully. These are also the active products in Zodiac spray (though I hope they use a 'kitty-safe' form of pyrethrum). Preventic collars, containing Amitraz, are the single most effective product for ticks that I have used... but I was comparing Advantix to Frontline. Do not ever use a preventic collar on a cat, though....See Moreelphaba_gw
