Here is a website that will link you to more information about "farm collies", they are trained working dogs that will protect your farm. Unlike the show collies, these dogs do not require the same level of grooming. A friend of mine raises them and she has her dog bring all the chickens into the barn at night on command. I have a regular rough collie who is great with our 4 and 7 year old kids but she's a couch potato and has a Farah Faucet hair doo that requires high maintainance. We love her just the same and adopted her long before we had chickens, but I do long for a dog who could watch the girls when they free range. I've pretty much got the other cat's eliminatory habits under control. No scatter rugs, or welcome mats (yes, I've watched her pee on one of those scratchy cocoa fiber welcome mats) No clothing left on the floor, ever, ever. Ever. Not a washcloth or a hand towel. Not even the scrap of flannel underneath the legs of the dryer that's been un-stacked from the washer that died. *sigh* Because...I realized she'd been adopted out and returned twice before she was two years old. (V-8 head slap) So, she's limited to kitchen, den, tv room with her numerous litter boxes scooped twice a day and cleaned weekly and rinsed with plain water, thank-you, and not something that smells like anything. She killed a mouse, once. We suspect she fell over on it and it suffocated. 15 pounds of purry fury! Sadly, when the fur-babies depart, it brings up the other losses that occurred during their time with us. I've lost my husband and Mom in the time Old Boy was with me.

Right now , I'm working on glass fusing. I go to the senior center once a week and take a class. Wouldn't you know it - I have tons of "regular" stained glass ,and to do fusing - you need special glass !!!! UGH !!! Just what I needed ..MORE glass . I also have to keep the fusing glass separate from the other stuff . Gulp ! I've been wanting to do a mosaic for a long time -I'm just looking for a place to do it ! LOL Right my now my craft room looks like a hurricane went through it !!!!

I've been told by my husband this fella is a green anole. The lime green ones out there my mother always called chameleons because they changed from brown to green and back as needed to blend in. Yes, I can't take the heat today. Went out to pot up some Pentas and just came back inside awhile ago. They'll wait until tomorrow morning EARLY. I have never seen so many hummingbirds as I'm seeing this year, Roselee. Sometimes 5-12 a day out there! Are you seeing more of them than usual in your garden? In years past, both here and at my last house, I only saw maybe 5 in an entire season! Maybe they, as a species, are getting addicted to our Texas Turk's Cap. There's an addiction I gladly promote! :)
