If the battery is 2 years old, it becomes suspect. IF the engine is a Briggs OHV, the valve adjustment becomes suspect.

Probably some gook in another country didn't know what it meant, but put it in there anyway! As long as it charges the battery like it should--don't worry about it. If the battery started the car-you're home free, except for what the initial cost was!

How many trees do you have to protect? The deer in my neighborhood finally hit critical mass, meaning that they over-populated to the point that they are already foraging for foods they wouldn't ordinarily eat unless desperate -- that typically happens in February, but ours started this in late August. Here's what I did: I took 32" high wire edging fence from Lowe's (about 10ft in length, I think). I LAID this wire down flat on the ground in front of the area where I did not want them. They do not like to walk over wire. They can get caught up in the wire and bend it, but I've never had to "rescue" one. I've been researching "Hunters for the Hungry" to see if there's a way to convince my neighborhood to allow bow hunting to thin the herd and donate a portion of the meat to the Food Bank. There is a partnership here with the Wildlife agency. The meat is packed by a professional meat packer before donating to the Food Bank.

lol. Interestingly enough if he were going to remove just one wire, I would have removed the black one... Either way, it's not a bomb. It is, however, a hazard to have ANY live wires "sticking out" or otherwise not properly "ended". If you choose to get rid of the hardwired smoke detector altogether, "cap" the wires with "wire nuts" and put a blank round plate over the hole (you can buy the plate at almost any hardware store. Don't try to make one yourself. Same with wirenuts.) Installing a new hardwired one is similarly simple. Match black to black, white to white, attach with wires, and secure it to the wall/ceiling per the instructions (usually two screws). I haven't seen a smoke detector with a ground wire since the early 80s, but if you somehow manage to find one, it'll have a green wire that needs to be connected to the bare copper wire in the wall/ceiling, also with a wirenut. No matter which option you choose, you'll want to turn off the power before mucking around with them wires. Since you probably have no reliable way to TEST them, I'd recommend turning off the power to the entire house.
