Broke a tooth

Sunday morning while eating some bacon, I broke a tooth. Lower back right. We were at a bluegrass festival for the weekend. Thankfully, it wasn't painfu. I had an appt for a cleaning this morning anyway, so I called first thing yesterday and told them there would be more work to do. We ended up putting a temp crown on it, and will do the cleaning at the same time we put the perm crown on on the 12th. I had bad experiences every time I went to the dentist as a child, and this one knows how I am. She's great. She does my cleanings herself, even. I have a small mouth which makes it harder to work on. They even had to use the child size holder to take an exray of it with. My mouth was numb until after 2 pm, appt at 11 am. It still doesn't want to open all the way, but the numbness is gone. There is nothing preventing my mouth opening, it just got tired of being open as wide as it could for so long! Then I decided to make paprikash and cabbage rolls for dinner. No wonder I'm whooped!

It's very fatiguing to sit in the dental chair for so long. Glad you are getting it fixed. Crowns are expensive, huh?

The dentist always wears me out,just from stress alone. I don't care how good the dentist is, after my childhood experiences, it's major stress. Thankfully, we have insurance. It won't cover all of it, but will cover most.

This engine will turn and sounds like it has a lot of compression and won't turn fast at first. When it does turn fast and attempts to start it back fires through the carborator. If I continue to try and start it the cotta key will break on the flywheel. The valves are set properly or so I think. I cannot find the engine information anywhere in any Briggs & Stratton book. On the engine cover there is a Family number listed 5BSXS.5012VP and the number 267016. I cant find any of these numbers in the book.

Lol, I'm not gonna drive the truck. I'm gonna plant flowers in the bed of it at the shop, lol. I just talked to the dentist and its gonna cost me a thousand dollars to fix that one dang tooth. Corporate at Denny's is officially closed today but the guy that answered the phone seemed to think they were going to take care of it but said I had to wait for the lady to call me tomorrow to tell me what I need to do. I can't get an appt. with the dentist until next week unless I want to pay the emergency fee. Thats another $200. I'm gonna have a dang hole in my tongue by then from the sharp edges. I told hubby to file it down with a dremmel, lol. He is not a happy camper. Sharp teeth are no fun, lol.

Ah, this one is right up my alley! As I posted last month, my DH has broken several teeth recently and won't get implants till October, so I've been cooking soft foods exclusively since early July (I'm not going to cook two separate dinners, so I've been eating soft foods as well). The main difference, aside from the omission of solid meats, is the change in the proportion of protein to carbs: I tend to add a smaller amount of ground meat to a rice or pasta dish than I would serve as hamburgers. But I think that's actually a good thing! I've made every one of Chase's suggestions; we especially like the Shepherd's Pie. I also made a big lasagna and froze the portions separately. Another suggestion: crab cakes. Actually, almost any fish or crab dish is easy to eat, as long as you omit the crunchy additions and toppings. Canned tuna or chicken, mixed with a little mayo, can accompany a pasta dish; without the dressing, it can be added to a rice pilaf or sauteed vegetables. You might be able to manage meatloaf, too. You'll probably be able to eat most well-cooked veggies, except corn on the cob. Baked potatoes and sweet potatoes are fine, too. Avoid raw veggies, nuts, seeds, and raisins. Who is getting ready for fall plantings?

Im spending the afternoon planning the planting schedule. There are 4 houses I can plant in. 2 of them now have tomatoes growing in them, and considering those are our best sellers, we are not willing to rip them out early to plant other crops. So those 2 won't open up until October / November. Not sure if there is any reason to try planting them at that point, or wait until early spring to try to have crops in April. The other has ginger in about 2/3 of it, and zucchini in the other third. I have no problem ripping out the zucchini - but that only gives me a 4x70 bed. The ginger won't come out until late September at the earliest The last is currently empty, but is our main greenhouse. We need to get benches out, rip up landscape fabric, bring in compost and till. But - since that is our main greenhouse, and plants are our real money makers, we will need it beginning in March, I need to plan so that whatever crops are grown in there are gone by then. It is also close to a Walnut - so I have to grow walnut tolerant crops. Im thinking beets, carrots and lettuce for that house, and some brassicas away from the walnut. I will just have to rip them out come March. This year will be a real learning curve. :)

Sorry your tooth broke. My DH had a false veneer on his front tooth, it broke off yesterday. Instead of saving the tooth, he threw it in a wastebasket and now it's gone. So we're in for some big dental work and big bills. He looks like a monster right now. Snaggletoothed.

I broke a tooth about 6 years ago - same place - in the back lower right side. Kind of funny - the dentist said I have a small mouth too, and had to use childrens' implements. when that happened it felt like I had a huge hole - it was very unsettling.

we LOVE bluegrass - by the way. Where was the festival?

Ouch! Glad yous was so uneventful! I went thru this a couple of months ago, about killed my pocketbook! Root canal and cap, nearly $1500, geez.

Jannie, I hope you didn't just jinx me! I have a veneer on one of my front teeth!

Hostapasta, it was in Wilmington, OH at the Roberts Center. somusicfest.com. Next one is in November, I think. There are all kinds of bluegrass festivals in Ohio and all over. We are planning to go to Merlefest in Wilkesboro, NC at the end of April. What a great weekend! Even with the broken tooth. Our first time at Merlefest was last spring. FANTASTIC!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember eons ago having a noonish dental appointment. They really numbed my mouth for some work. On the way back to work, I drove through a fast food and got a shake and burger, but it turned out I could not drink the shake as I drove along. My numbed lips kept collapsing in when I would suck on the straw, breaking the suction action that pulls the shake up the straw.
