This is from an earlier thread (link below) Posted by grannabelle (My Page) on Sat, Mar 27, 10 at 11:43 as you may have seen on my posting of yesterday, FL Joshua also rescued my counter tops this week... here is what i consider an invaluable piece of advice that he gave me while he was here, having to do with water rings and the like (which in my case was the least of the probs with my stone)- perhaps many of you are aware of this, but i was not, and so i pass it on...i always oiled on top of the rings and spots in an attempt to have them blend in..with no success...Joshua explained that before oiling i have to scrub the ring or spot with dish soap and water to remove it...and then re-oil...otherwise, you are just sealing the mark under the oil...last night i saw two very small little spots (don't know from what) - followed Joshua's advice and two minutes later they were completely gone... MS International in Hayward carries 76 kinds of marble. Of those 5 are from the U.S. and 1 from Canada. Of those only the Calacatta LIncoln is in stock at that location. Their website is really easy to use. It allows you to sort by stone type, color, size, and then to look at photos of the exact stones they carry, what size they are, what the finish is, etc. We're dealing with a place up in Santa Rosa that sources their stone from MSI and they sent us to the Hayward location to see more slabs than they had on hand. If they are rated for wet areas, and have adequate slip resistance, my only other quibble would be that the edges might be harsh on feet.

Okay, OP, so we've currently only got one cabinet (the sink) at the end where our quarry tile floor is. There's a pull-out bin and integrated dishwasher door to go there too but these are not made yet - long story, these cabs were actually designed for our last house but not used so we're getting more made to match ;) Anyway, from these couple of pics you can see the taupe colour of our cabinets and the cream fridge freezer in relation to our floor.....excuse the mess, it's very much a(nother) work in progress (no work surface yet - it was just necessary to fit a tap after ten months without running water on the ground floor!)I definitely think a cream or sage/olive green would look fabulous in your space!
