Friend Can't Read Disk

Sometimes drives are finicky about the formats used to create the files it tries to read, and they get worse as they age. (sort-of like people :-) ) If this is a CD-R (not +R), see if another CD-R disk can be read by his computer. It's not alweays enough to say it can read other discs if we don't know how the others were formatted.

I like the bottom left door of your new selections. Have you shown him your inspiration pic? If he is making the door, you could likely get something very close and the same with the stain color. The bottom left is similar to your inspiration door. They are not that far off from one another. His has applied molding and there is less wood. Also, your inspiration photo is more obscured glass with a little more pattern in the center. I am sure he could stain the door to look like your inspiration photo. I think the door option he gave you that I used to compare to your inspiration door is quite beautiful.

ConnieMay, that's quite the size of your new Rascal and it sure looks great! I got mine (smaller) in 2014 from Hosta Fever...a division from Cindy's own plant. I'm so looking forward to seeing it emerge again and hoping for more eyes. Really happy to see more Rascals posted! :-)

Good one Konrad. I never have much luck catching birds right.

Great catch. I always liked to watch these birds when I lived in Nebraska.

What 'metering' did you have the camera set on? I wonder if 'center wieght' metering would've helped with bringing out more detail in the bird. It's difficult when the subject and backgroung contrast as much.

Good shot Konrad. I have a bird feeder and bath so all kinds of birds come here even the red winged blackbirds which are mainly a swamp bird. Also sqirrels, gophers, chipmunks, rabbits and deer. Not able to take pictures of some though.

Thank you all!

Metering was set at Partial Metering, [for bright background] not sure if center weighted would have helped? Thanks for asking!... I will try and see.

Doris,
Wow...you have a Zoo out there at times, have you got a zoom lens?...If not, ask Santa to get you a 12x zoom camera LOL.

Konrad,
yeah center weighted would have definately blown out the back ground. I was just wondering. Like I mentioned it's hard when the subject and backround contrast so much, it's a give and take situation. I hear that Fuji S3 does an excellent job with HDR, I am trying and find one to play with, but I live in a small town and there are no camera stores here. Plus, spending US$1500 for a 6.1MP is hard for me to justify.

I like them to...It seems to be little quiet around here (birdwise). Not many visitors lately...Nice shot, Konrad!

Konrad I do have a 24x zoom on my camera but whenever I set the camera to digital zoom the batteries die on me but when I turn it off and back on it works fine. It doesn't have a stabelizer that is a problem.

Very Nice! They are not as abundant here as they used to be. You really captured that one nicely!

Where I live someone did a DNA on a mosquito and found it had robins blood in it so now the robins are being killed because of west nile disease. The robins have always been my friends and I feel bad about the foolishness of science.
