RC,

Great macro shots! First two, Hollyhocks? I'll have to try that shot tomorrow.

Excellent close-ups!

I particularly like the lighting/shadows in the second photo...very nice.

It's a different world in macro. That third photo could be any number of things.

I moved to my new place in June, and finally have lots of space to grow flowers galore and have a garden full of veggies. Only problem is....I dont think I have a green thumb...I have a tuff time keeping house plants alive. I am here on this site to learn as much as possible. My husband just bought me a portable type greenhouse...but I have no clue how it even works. Yikes. Also...I am interested in recieving these seeds you mentioned. Thank you. Kim

I can't say as I've noticed any fragrance from the flower; that's the first thing I checked for, actually. When my E. calochlora flowered, I remember that bloom having a nice scent. I'm also allergic to tree pollen this time of year, so I probably can't tell either way at this point. It would really be interesting to experience the scent of this species' bloom; maybe next year I can have the plant inside so I don't get such bad allergic reactions! :)

That is cool how you can see the little bits of pollen on that coneflower. I love the way the light hits that hibiscus. It reminds me of the dresses Spanish dancers wear as they twirl.

Thanks guys. Macros really do make for a world of their own.

The first two are hardy hibiscus and the last one is a closer in shot of the center of a coneflower like I posted the other day.

Ok, same family. The Mallow family.

Macros without anything else in the shot to give them perspective makes them very hard to make Id's from. Getting in the mallow family is pretty good!
