best carpet for pet owners
Comments (11)Do they do it when you're at home, or just when they are home alone? Do they keep using the same spot? Do they pee outside when given the opportunity? Our neighbors have 2 small dogs, and when the people aren't home, the dogs are isolated in a room with vinyl flooring, with a couple of piddle pads on the floor. If they do have to go, they use the pads. I would not put in new carpet until the dogs are completely trained. I suspect the odor is beyond your ability to remove it; you might have to pull the carpet (maybe even replace some subfloor) to get rid of the odor, to get the dogs to understand that it isn't a toilet....See MoreHave I got a question for all pet owners tdoday........
Comments (35)I had a friend whose family were big hunters and also they raised/butchered cattle. The first time I walked into her living room I nearly had a heart attack. Stuffed animals EVERYWHERE. At least 10 animal heads on the wall alone, not even including the bear rug and the cow skin throw over the couch. Everywhere I went, all those animals looked at me. Freaked me out! I had to stop going there. My grandparents have two stuffed, mounted squirrels in their basement, including an albino squirrel (so pure white) with red eyes! When I was a kid we had to sleep on the pull out bed in the basement and those squirrels always scared me. So, LOL, no I would never have any "stuffed" animal in my house....See MoreIrresponsible pet owners
Comments (28)"lukkirish, what you say may be partially true, but....by now the breed has been so badly over bred for violence, and there's the 'lion tamer' mentality that the owner can fix or control the propensity to violence in these bully breeds, that it's a very unsafe breed." I understand fully that the breed is dangerous, my point is that we should be looking at a bigger picture here. Why are they dangerous? Because of the terrible breeding practices done by breeders. Again, it's just my opinion but these animals are only doing what they've been bred to do, "by us" (as in humans) and as a society we need to take responsibility for that and find a solution that goes beyond just destroying these dogs. First we inbreed them to be naturally aggressive and then we expect them to ignore that same natural tendency we're guilty of in breeding into them. Breeders and owners who unwisely believe they can retrain this animal to be a family pet are really the ones responsible for their maiming people or other animals. Why owners? Because they knowingly put them in a situation that is impossible for the this breed to contend with. Again it's just my opinion but just as there are laws about housing wild animals that are knowingly dangerous, these animals deserve the same care and protection. We keep breeding and then destroying them. It doesn't make sense to me. I'm not arguing with the fact that they don't make a good family pet at all. What I'm saying is we blame them when the way I see it, they are innocent. They absolutely require a special environment but in my opinion, it's the breeders and pet owners who are really at fault for all the destruction and harm these animals have caused, not the dogs themselves. And while we are busy destroying these dogs, we are turning a blind eye to the breeders who are the source of the problem to begin with. We should put some focus on who is really at fault and their poor breeding tactics....See MoreRough day for pet owner
Comments (32)LOL, Minnie! Loved your reference to furballs. :o) Thanks for your post. The dog just started taking medicine for Doggy Alzheimers, plus I take a couple meds myself, so between the three of us (dog, cat, and me), we're starting to sound like a bunch of old fogeys with all our medicines. The cat is getting the wire removed from her jaw soon, possibly next week. That should slow her down from all the JUMPING she's been trying to do against doctor's orders! The trouble is, she tries to jump and misses and has taken three spills in the last couple of days--not good for a broken leg. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that she hasn't reinjured the leg, which *finally* has skin again. Sometimes I think interpretting what the furballs are saying is half the joy of pet ownership. You know, putting words in their mouth when they have funny expressions on their faces? :oD...See Morearkansas girl
