Pretty flower. In our walks in the woods a long time ago, we always saw flowers like this that my grandmother called flags. I wonder where the name came from.

gmom74. We always called them flags too. I just looked them up in the dictionary and it says it's a type of iris or cattail. There were streams that run through the property where we lived years ago and I used to go there in the summer. The blue flags grew there and cattail. I saw dragonflies too.
