What paint color would look good with khaki furniture?

I was hoping someone would have a vision for this. We have a split level home and I would like to find a color I can live with for a long time, as painting the walls where the stairwell is is a pain in the you know what.

I like grayed down blues and I love cream which I am leaning towards and would put up blue drapes and other accessories to bring in color.

I was thinking Silver Sage by RH but it is in my bedroom and the color seems a bit strong in my home.

Or perhaps someone has an idea I haven't concidered or knows of any specific colors that would be good based on my two likes.

I'd like to get this done before the furniture arives next Thursday.

Any and all advise is greatly appreciated, thanks!

What about a hazy blue - would love awesome with the rug and the dark furnishings...very fresh. I love Grey Owl...but here are some others

1. Benjamin Moore Full Moon (2119-70), 2. Benjamin Moore Grey Owl (OC-52), 3. Benjamin Moore Misty Gray (2124 -60), 4. Farrow & Ball Light Gray (17), 5. Benjamin Moore Icicle (OC-60), 6. Benjamin Moore Moonshine (OC-56). As you can see, we love Ben Moore colors!

Toocolorcrazy-thank you so much. I am concidering Gray Owl. It looks almost identical to Restoration Hardware's Pale silver which I have in my kitchen. I love willowdecor's Arctic Shadows but her home has lots of windows so I am wondering if it's too intense for my house. I will check out the other colors you mentioned.

Jennifer, it`s not about what will look good to others, it`s about what will make the people who live in the house happy, contented, and pleased with their choices. You alone (and anyone else living there) have to choose the style(s), colors, textures that you like. When you find things you cannot live without you will know what to buy. I suggest you look at lots and lots of pictures (try Pinterest and Houzz or google particular styles) and go to furniture showrooms to see what resonates with you and your significant other. Never choose furniture, clothing, or anything based only on the impression you think it will make on others. That is not the way to a happy life. If, as others said, you tell us your favorite styles, colors, etc there is a possibility you will receive useful information about choices and likely pictures of inspiration rooms. Successful decorating, like much in life, is not for sissies but it can be very rewarding and even fun!

I think the black/deep charcoal suggestion is a terrific one. I had thought that myself. I also agree with making the small sections of siding dark too. The house lacks contrast. As suggested on the other thread, go to the Sherwin Williams website and find the color visualizer. Upload a picture of the house and play around with the deeper colors. Be sure and post the results-I'd love to see them!

it is a small family room (living space for furniture is about 15x 13), so don't want to add shelves I think... The niche is centered but previous owners have the TV way off. re: covering the hole, my husband and I are on two different pages! I'd like to cover it and my husband doesnt, because he worries about placement of furniture. my question would be, how would you cover the fireplace to suit the style of the house? easier fix, the better.
